VOTE! Your Voice, Your Right 🗳️ Heading to the polls is more than a choice—it’s an honor. Here in Alaska the right to vote came with statehood only 65 years ago. On January 3, 1959, after years of determination and the efforts of many, Alaska joined the United States, gaining the same rights as the rest of the country.

Those who fought for statehood dreamed of a future where Alaskans could vote for their leaders, the US President, and have a voice in Congress. Today, every vote cast is a tribute to that legacy. Make your voice heard!

Tours canceled today 8.28.24. It absolutely breaks our heart to have to cancel tours due to the weather, but we are sincere when we say SAFETY FIRST, followed closely the quality of your experience. Those decisions are serious and heartfelt. We are sorry for everyone who is missing out on their tour today. Living here we have learned to take the good weather with the challenging weather to keep this place so green and pristine. Hey how many people can say they live in, or visited a temperate rain forest right?

💙 Meet Cade: A Brave Fighter in Need of Our Help 💙 In August 2023, sweet little Cade was diagnosed with SPG50, an ultra-rare genetic disease that threatens to take away his ability to speak, move, and think on his own. SPG50 is a cruel condition that slowly robs children of their independence and quality of life. But there is hope—a groundbreaking gene therapy, developed by a father whose own child had the same diagnosis, has shown promising results in children like Cade.

Unfortunately, this life-saving treatment is not federally funded. Cade and three other children are urgently awaiting this therapy, but time is running out. We need to raise $1.5 million by November to give Cade the chance he deserves.

Without this treatment, Cade's future is at risk. But together, we can make a difference. Please join us in the fight to save Cade and help him live a full, vibrant life.

DID YOU KNOW that glacier ice is blue because the red (long wavelengths) part of white light is absorbed by ice and the blue light (short wavelengths) is transmitted and scattered? The longer the path light travels in ice, the more blue it appears 🩵

Also note that the overcast days bring out the BLUE!! Don't be disappointed if you fly on an overcast day...you have found a 💎!!

Franklin D. Roosevelt issued the first presidential proclamation designating Aug. 19 – Orville Wright’s birthday as National Aviation Day. . . Today also marks the birthday of two other men’s birthday that have had a huge impact in aviation. . . Ken Ward, the founder of Ward Air here in Juneau who built it up and ultimately sold it to fund his family’s purchase of the Taku Lodge. Also Don Bach, our long time Director of Maintenance and part of the ownership of Wings Airways! . . Coincidence? We think not! These two men were destined to join aviation history of their own when they were born on Aug 19! . . Roosevelt signed the proclamation in 1938 to encourage citizens to participate in aviation related activities on this day. . .
