TUESDAY TRAVEL TIPS
Make copies of your passport. Tuck one copy away in a safe place in your home. Tuck one copy in your papers when traveling, not with your passport. Leave one copy with your closest family member or friend should you have a need to reach out to them for assistance during travel.

Global Entry - Make a copy and leave with your passport at home and also in your papers whe traveling.
Also, even though you are advised you do not need your card, some immigrations do want to see it. (Happened to me in Canada!)
Trick: Get one of the stick on pockets like for your credit cards on your iphone. Stck it inside the back cover of your passport and you will always have your card handy should you need it.

Expiration dates - They sneak up on us! Destinations that follow the 6 month beyond travel validity rule are NOT flexible.
Write on a sticky note the expiration date of your passport and your Global entry/TSA card. Stick it on your desk calendar (or make a note on your online calendar) for December. Each December, when you are changing over to the next year, either get ready to renew your documents the upcoming year if expiring or move the reminder notice to the next December.
Having to renew passports when you decide to take a trip out of the US can be just one more thing to think about when planning. However if you apply for the renewal at the start of the year of expiry, your passport is up to date, without thought and also ready and valid when that decision to travel comes up with short notice!!!! To always be safe, as soon as you begin to think of a trip out of US, go check your passport validity dates!

ETIAS REQUIREMENTS TO GO IN EFFECT 2025
More than a billion travelers will be impacted by new entry requirements when traveling to most of Europe in 2025.

Created by the European Union, the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) is an entry requirement for visa-exempt nationals traveling from 60 countries, including the US. Beginning May 2025, travelers will need complete a digital application to travel to one of 30 EU countries for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.

Currently, US travelers do not need a visa for entry to these countries. Travelers will need to apply for a visa using the official ETIAS website ETIAS https://travel-europe.europa.eu/etias_en or mobile application; most applications will incur a small processing fee of 7 Euros.

Official EU website on ETIAS, the new travel authorisation for visa-exempt travellers to enter 30 European countries. Applications should be filled in this website from mid-2025.
