❗️ Record alert ❗️ On March 14, 2023, Flagstaff reached 59 consecutive days with at least 10 inches of snow on the ground. This broke the previous record run of 58 days set in 2010. Interestingly, setting this new record came down to the wire. On March 15, 2023, significant melting ensured Flagstaff would not make it to 60 days. 😮

A winter storm is set to move across northern Arizona from late Saturday into Monday. Until then look for occasional showers with the snow level rising to around 8500 feet. If you plan to travel be aware of the high impact travel periods. Before you leave make sure and fill that tank and that your phone is fully charged.

A couple early snow reports so far this morning: 6.4" here in Bellemont and 6.5" at the Flagstaff Airport. It's still snowing and roads are very slow going along I-40 from Ash Fork to Winona and I-17 from Flagstaff south to Stoneman Lake. Please use extra caution this morning and allow plenty of time to travel if you need to.

READY means monitor the situation and be ready to prepare for evacuation. SET means danger is in the area; make preparations to evacuate immediately. GO means evacuate immediately.
