A 115-125-year-old anvil made by America Wrought Anvil Co. between 1899 and 1910, will be the focal point of my fourth student workstation. After some cleaning, it will be mounted on a soon-to-be-fabricated adjustable height anvil stand. I recently acquired the 73-pound anvil from Mike G in Wailuku. It is perfect for the light work that I will guide my students through.

More items recovered! I have detailed photos of the Suffolk latch pre-fire. A few of the latches were missing parts and I’ve planned on restoring them. Now I get to forge all new hinges and latches.

Twice last year, for four days at a time I demonstrated blacksmithing on Front Street in Lahaina. Set up my blacksmithing tools on the lawn of the Baldwin Home Museum it was a privilege to share this ancient art with visitors. I stored my 150 year old forge blower in the basement. After 7 long months, the building’s 2 foot thick walls have been shored up so recovery of artifacts can take place. My forge blower has been located in tact. I was able to pick it up yesterday. The blower is seized up as I image the large bronze gear inside has melted, I will eventually restore it.
