🌌 Rare Comet Sighting on Mauna Kea 🌠

Last night during our Sunset & Stargazing tour, one of our guides (Arthur) captured an incredible photo of Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS (C/2023 A3) using just a smartphone at an elevation of 11,000 feet! This rare celestial visitor is making its closest pass to Earth in 80,000 years, and we’re thrilled to share this stunning moment with our guests.

While the comet will start to fade as it moves higher in the sky and farther from the Sun, it will remain visible through our telescopes during stargazing sessions for the rest of the month. Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see it with your own eyes on our tour! 🌠✨

Join us for an unforgettable night under the stars on Mauna Kea. 🌙

Aloha Kākou! Hello everyone! 😀 My name is Christian! I am a Native Hawaiian student at the university of Hawaiʻi where I study history, culture, language, biology, volcanology, astronomy, and polemology of the Hawaiian islands. I apply my studies through “Experiences”, Native Hawaiian guided hikes to and throughout the most beautiful and magical places in Hawaiʻi, to
Immerse you in the Hawaiian universe through oratory and place to leave you inspired with all those things that make our islands unique and special, to create life long memories. From waterfalls to lava lakes, from stars to white sand beaches, from rainbow fish filled reefs to lush green valleys. Our island has it all, I’m here to share their stories! 🙂 🌈🌋🌕🌊✨💫💗🩷🌎♾️🌳💧

Kaanapali, Maui was mine and Shawn’s first *real* trip (2002 honeymoon after 5 years together)! I remember loving every minute from the amazing beaches and exceptional food to the road to Hana in a Jeep Wrangler with the top off stopping off side the road for fresh pineapple and hiking to waterfalls.

Fast forward 20 years later and we have taken our girls to the Hawaiian Islands too many times to count. Kona is our second home and we wouldn’t trade it but Maui is a pretty special place!

We once went to The Feast of Lele in Lahaina, a luau right on the beach with our oldest daughter. We watched the sunset and she danced in front of the hula girls until she was completely exhausted. I know we have many photos of the magnificent banyan tree that I am unable to locate but what an amazing site it was.

We ate Cheeseburgers in Paradise on Front St. and have strolled the area shopping many times. We have rode the Sugar Cane Train, gone to the Maui Ocean Center, parasailing and snorkeling, sunset dinner cruises, and pretty much everything else you can do on vacation. My girls both learned to swim there. We have made Christmas cards from Maui photos. We have stayed in Kihei and spent time on a beach in Waimea where a rouge wave almost took our youngest daughter away. I even bought some of the fancy Hawaiian scrapbooking supplies that are showcased in some of my photos.

The last visit we took to Kona over spring break this year we met an amazing couple vacationing from Napili, Maui. We went to dinner and closed down the town with our new friends. They are safe and their home is safe but the devastation is out if this world. A wildfire disaster in Hawaii has never crossed our minds. As an owner in Hawaii you have to consider Hurricane, Tsunami, Flood and Volcanic Eruption Insurance but we absolutely never thought about fire being the the danger.

We are thinking of everyone in Hawaii at this time ❤️ It is heartbreaking. If you would like to do something to help monetary donations through a reputable site are the most helpful. Red Cross, United Way, Maui Fire and Disaster Relief, Maui Strong Fund, Maui Food Bank.

Did you know Hawaii is home to the most endangered species of any place in the world? Please remember to malama ka 'aina i ke kai - take care of the land and the ocean.
