We hosted a group of students from @depauwu on our Super-Raft Snorkel and Ocean Debris Cleanup tour and we can’t thank them enough for helping us clean our oceans! The winter swells have brought lots of trash, nets, rope, etc and we pulled a mix of items out on this trip. Including items with critters that we safely returned back to the reef where they belong! Yesterday, one of our captains was notified by a fellow mariner of a mass of net floating off shore and asked if Body Glove could retrieve it. Our crew banned together and said yes! So we headed out to pull this out of the ocean. 🌊 Not only will we take last minute marine debris calls 😉 but we also offer cleanup tours for YOU to get involved! Last week on one of our tours, we discovered an “island” of trash floating off our coastline. We grabbed some crew, and headed back to pull this out of the ocean. 🪼What we thought would be a seamless process, turned into a 9 hour battle. This 1+ ton island of debris put up a good fight, but it was no match for our ocean loving crew. We got it back to the pier close to midnight, and the next morning it was hauled out of the water… everyone sighing with relief knowing our marine life would not be getting tangled in this. 🪼We’re not just here to bring you your best day in Hawai’i, we’re here to fight for the ocean and save our marine life. 🪼Want to be apart of something bigger?
