Kona is one of the best places in the world to see manta rays up close. The mantas of Hawaii, unlike others around the world don't migrate. They don't even visit other islands. Kona has several spots where you can dive or snorkel with them and watch these giants as they feed. They literally will swim inches away from you as they circle around feeding on the plankton attracted to the lights.

Those spots on their underside are like a manta fingerprint, no two are the same, so organizations are able to track sightings and how many mantas are in the waters around the island.

Yesterday evening was cloudy and it looked like the sunset wouldn’t be anything special. Then about 10 minutes after sunset, the sky lit up with color. Don’t forget to keep watching after the sun sets. You never know what may happen. Luckily I was sitting in our new stressless chair and saw it.

It's been a busy couple weeks for us. When we did the kitchen updates last year we knew the next thing we wanted to tackle was the bedroom. Carpet was replaced with tile matching the rest of the unit, and the large bedroom set replaced with wall mounted lamps and shelves with charging built in to accommodate a new California King bed. We are thrilled with how everything turned out and hope our guests will enjoy it as much as we do.

We are so excited to announce our kitchen remodel is complete. This has been in the works for some time and it came out as well as we had hoped. We look forward to our guests being able to enjoy it.

For good measure we did some updates to freshen the bathroom and add storage in the bedroom to prepare for changing out the furnishing there.

This trip we have been blessed with some of the most amazing sunsets we can recall.
