Kona Sea Salt is located on the Kona coast of Hawaii, the “Big Island” in the Hawaiian island chain. We pride ourselves in producing a renowned sea salt, which continues to earn accolades from top executive chefs and fitness experts for its delicate flavor and rich trace mineral content. Kona Sea Salt is entirely hand tended from the moment our deep seawater arrives on site. After about four weeks

of unhurried evaporation within our closed drying systems, the bright Hawaiian sun transforms the seawater into our characteristic, pure white Kona Sea Salt crystals. The crystals are gently scooped into buckets and wheeled to covered wooden hoppers. Here, the remaining moisture is drained from the salt creating a concentrated brine called nigari*, or bitterns. Once it’s fully dried, the salt is patiently inspected to exacting standards, then packaged for sale. Kona Sea Salt destined for our retail product line is oven-dried on site in accordance with State of Hawaii health requirements, then labeled and packaged by hand for shipping. Whether it's a single grinder, or full pallets shipped by sea, we make certain that every order of Kona Sea Salt arrives as quickly and affordably as possible from our Kona production site. Our site in Kona on the Hawaii Ocean Science & Technology Park. We use Deep Ocean Water for our products from 2,200 feet deep, from one of the most pristine environments on Earth. As the water travels, safely shielded from surface pollution, it absorbs minerals from the sea floor along its journey.
Even the surface water in Kona is amazingly pristine too.

Harvest time! After weeks of solar evaporation and crystalization, our amazing harvest team Ellie and Mason set out to collect the results of playing the waiting game. Once the sea salt is collected it is placed in a series of hoppers to help it finishing draining.
