We (Mom, Dad and 8 year old daughter)just returned from a week long stay at The Kona Heavens Hideaway and I can not say enough good things about it. It was clean, welcoming, roomy, peaceful. Everything from the pool and hot tub to the fruit trees and landscape-it was amazing. Thank you for everything.Response

Perfect Mix of Proximity and Retreat!

Left on Mar 2, 2017 for a stay in Feb 2017
My family, including 9 and 12yo kids, was here in February, 2017. This property is truly a perfect, easy mix of proximity to Big Island activities/needs (e.g., beaches, whale watching, snorkeling, grocery stores, etc.) and retreat (e.g., family time in the pool, making dinner (the outdoor kitchen was a really pleasant surprise, as it allowed everyone to be together while the cooks prepared meals), playing board or yard games, gecko spotting in the spacious yard, etc.). The property is close to amazing beaches (10-30 minutes by car, depending on location), but as amazing and fun as the beaches are, they can be busy, crowded and hot -- Sandra's property provides the perfect reprieve! Some of you may be wondering what it is like to stay at a property where the owners also reside. Let me assure you the arrangement is not a problem (and, really, is a great benefit). Sandra did an outstanding job of providing the various items and amenities needed to spend a day at the beach (e.g., boogie boards, cooler, frozen ice packs, beach chairs, beach toys for the kids), to prepare a meal (e.g., pots/pans/glasses/utensils), and have fun in the pool (e.g., floaties, dive toys, etc.). However, if, on the rare occasion, we had a question, Sandra was available and accommodating. The kids loved the pool and hot tub, and it was great having onsite laundry (in fact, we forgot our suits in the dryer on the day we flew out--oops--and Sandra texted us to let us know that she found them and would mail them to us). The access to fresh avocados was awesome, too. Very close to the airport too, which allowed us to squeeze in a bit of pool time the morning of our last day. Highly recommend!
