Tip Tuesday!

Planning a pool day at your Walt Disney World resort? Good news for your little travelers- Disney provides life jackets at the pool, so you can leave your flotation devices at home. On our first trip as a family, I made the mistake of using up precious suitcase room with a bulky puddle jumper! 🙂

🚨 UNIVERSAL ORLANDO NEWS 🚨

The official ride lineup for Early Park Entry for Epic Universe is here!

Early Park Entry (a perk for guests staying at an on-property Universal Orlando Hotel only) will include all 3 attractions in Super Nintendo World as well as Celestial Park's Stardust Racers rollercoaster.

Early Park Entry for Epic will begin on May 23rd, the day after the official Epic Universe's opening. No Early Park Entry on opening day!

Happy 50th anniversary to Magic Kingdom’s Space Mountain, which opened on January 15th, 1975!

Six fun facts for you:

- Early names for the ride included “Space Port” and “Space Voyage,” before settling on Space Mountain in 1966.
- Magic Kingdom’s mountain is more than 180 feet high and 300 feet in diameter.
- Space Mountain was the first roller coaster in history to be controlled by computer!
- While Space Mountain FEELS thrilling, it actually tops out at 28 mph. By comparison, the Barnstormer kiddie coaster maxes out at 25 mph.
- Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom features two tracks, Alpha & Omega. Alpha is longer by 10 feet.
- Five Disney parks feature their own versions of Space Mountain, although it originated at Walt Disney World; Disney World, Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Resort.

HOT TIP! We have a cool new option for Mobile Order at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland parks.

An update popped up today for iPhone users using the My Disney Experience and Disneyland app; Mobile Order at select locations, and you’ll be able to keep track of the progress of your order on the lock screen of your phone. I love that this new update lets you keep eyes on your order without being in the app(s)!

You can also tap "I'm Here” directly from the Live Activities display when you arrive at the pick-up location! Love that feature, too. No set date for Android users.

Make sure to double check the park hours for the park you plan to visit in the morning before you go to bed. Sometimes park opening/Early Entry can shift slightly, even if you checked at the beginning of your trip! You don’t want to be surprised to see a park opening castle show happening at Magic Kingdom when you thought you were there for Early Entry.

ANIMAL KINGDOM UPDATE!

The Dino-Rama subsection of Dinoland USA is now officially closed, which means the following is permanently shuttered:

- TriceraTop Spin
- Fossil Fun Games
- Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures

The Boneyard, Restaurantosaurus, Dino-Bite Snacks, Trilo-Bites, and DINOSAUR will remain open for the time being according to Walt Disney World. They have said that guests will have most if not all of 2025 to ride DINOSAUR one more time.

No opening dates have been announced for the new Tropical Americas expansion, which will enclude an Encanto dark ride and critter carousel.

FAQ FRIDAY!

“When is the best time to visit Walt Disney World?”

This FAQ is asked… extra frequently! 🙂 The short answer is that the best time to go to Walt Disney World is whatever time works best with your schedule, your family schedule, and your ability to handle heat ir crowds.

It used to be easier to predict when it might be busy or not, but with more guests willing to travel outside of school breaks it’s harder to predict these days! You can expect that the weeks surrounding Christmas will likely be very busy, as well as potentially spring break (depending on when that falls for you). Summer is less busy than it used to be (with some good promotions for 2025, ask me for details), and I also think late spring is a great time to visit if you’re comfortable missing school!

Whatever time of year you decide works best for you, I will help you navigate the trouble areas when you book with me. As always, I do not charge any fees for Walt Disney World vacation packages that are booked with me (fees may apply to ticket only or hotel only bookings in 2025)!

Do you have a favorite time of year to visit Disney? My family does spring break every year! I also love May or September.

Tip Tuesday!

Looking for the perfect Walt Disney World souvenir? I suggest adding Memory Maker to your package before your trip as a great way to look back on your vacation!

Over the years, we’ve amassed quite a collection of PhotoPass memories. From Kit’s first trip at three to trips with family/friends, I’m so happy we have these special pictures to enjoy for years to come.

You do get a discount on Memory Maker if you add it ahead of time, so that’s worth noting! You’ll find amazing spots in all four theme parks, including Magic Shots, Super Zoom, photographers inside of the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, and so much more! It’s worth not stressing about whether you have a way to access some of your favorite snaps. Not to mention-this is a super way to get the WHOLE family in the photo! 🙂

My Favorite Monday! What’s my favorite thing to do at EPCOT’s Festival of the Arts?

First of all, the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts has a LOT of cool stuff to do and see. The festival runs this year from January 17th to February 24th, 2025. From artist booths to interesting/fun Food Studios, you won’t run out of entertainment!

My FAVORITE thing at the festival is the Animation Academy, which allows guests a chance to sit down with paper and pencil to follow an animator’s guidance. You could draw unique characters like Figment! What you draw depends on the animator’s choice. Animation Academy takes place in America Gardens Theatre at 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM daily during the festival.

Other standouts for me include the chalk artists, the paint by numbers mural, and the Broadway performances! This festival often gets overlooked because it’s short, but it’s my favorite of all of the EPCOT fests.

Did you know that you can get FREE Unlimited Express Pass at Universal Orlando? There are three hotels that offer this benefit at this time: Royal Pacific, Hard Rock Hotel and Portofino Bay offer this perk to all guests in the room. For some guests, a night in a Signature hotel is a better value than buying Express Pass outright! The perk is offered on both check in and check out day, making it a great deal for many families.

And yes- I can help plan your Universal Orlando vacation for 2025! With Epic Universe opening in May, it’ll be a great year to visit. 🙌
