🛳️Haven vs Yacht Club🛳️

Round 2 🥊 Dining

This one is easy for me as the Haven would win on dining by a landslide! The restaurants in the Haven had many of the BEST dishes I have ever tasted, and menu items I still am dreaming about. Our butler also did a great job of surprising us in room with treats like macarons and plates of their famous OMG cheesecake after a night out.

Dining in Yacht Club was no slouch however either! They had the best pizza I have had ever had at sea and room service was fantastic! I did appreciate that the YC had more dining venues to eat at as well as a changing menu (I didn’t love that the Haven menu remained the same during our stay). In addition in the evenings in the main dining room the Yacht Club had a piano player which added a really nice ambiance.

Overall the quality and taste of the Haven food was more my speed which makes it the winner in my book, however we were by no means going hungry in the Yacht Club either!

The Cabins were always one of my favorite resorts to stay at when I was a kid. I love how you get all the comforts of having a little "mini-house" while being so close to the Magic Kingdom too!

🛳️Haven vs Yacht Club🛳️

Round 1 🥊 Priority Embarkation

With both the Haven and YC you get priority embarkation onto the ship. Let me tell you what a BIG perk this is. Not only do you get to arrive to the cruise terminal early (if you want) but you get to be some of the first guests on the ship. While waiting to embark (a very short amount of time) you are escorted to a private lounge where there are snacks and drinks 🥂waiting for you. From there you are personally escorted onto the ship (usually past throngs of guests waiting in line) and into the YC or Haven area.

This means you are not waiting hours in line to embark the ship, have zero stress, and are on board the ship and having lunch before most people even arrive at the terminal. Let me say it will be hard for me to cruise without this perk again!

The YC priority embarkation was seamless and I have no complaints at all. I do struggle to compare the Haven priority embarkation as on our particular sailing the ship was late to embarkation due to a charter sailing finishing up (these things can happen) So due to that we were unable to enjoy a lot of the perks that a typical Haven embarkation would provide.

Winner - Yacht Club (by default) 🏆

This frigid weather has me dreaming of tropical cruises! 🌴🛳️

In 2023 I was able to experience both the Haven on Norwegian cruises as well as the Yacht Club on MSC cruises. Both experiences are an elevated VIP ship within a ship concept. So I thought it would be fun to compare the two! Over the next few weeks I’ll share the kinds of perks both Haven and Yacht Club offer and which one seemed to be the best overall.

🛳️ Haven vs. Yacht Club🛳️

First off we can start with in room robe and slippers! 😆 (the slippers are a nice take home souvenir) I’ll say the Yacht Club slippers are slightly larger and more plush, however when it comes to the bathrobe Haven wins by a landslide! The Haven robe might be the most plush comfy robe I’ve ever worn, and yes you can purchase them to take home.

Wow, what a year! What was your favorite vacation memory from 2023?

I was blessed enough to sail on three different cruise lines this year; the Disney Fantasy, as well as try out the Yacht Club experience on the MSC Seashore and the Haven on the NCL Joy. What an amazing experience on all three! Also got to do pre-cruise stops at SeaWorld Orlando, Kennedy Spacecenter, and enjoy lunch at the Versace Mansion. 🐳🚀🍽️

We enjoyed family trips to Destin as well as a family road trip to Wisconsin. I truly don’t know that I can pick a favorite vacation memory from this year, as each trip has its own special moments and memories. But, combined together it was one heck of a year and I’m grateful for all of it! 🌟

Does anyone have a trip they are looking forward to taking in 2024? That’s the best way to start a New Year! ✈️

Last night we ate at Kaito Sushi, which is a revolving sushi bar. You just select which plates you want off the conveyor belt and eat! You can pay per plate or do an all you can eat option as well. Such a fun experience! 🍣

We had a private Captains Reception in the Yacht Club on our sailing. The captain never made it 🤷🏻‍♀️ (I guess he was sailing the ship), but the cocktails, canapés, and live music were lovely nonetheless! 😆

Breakfast in the Yacht Club has been so relaxing! No crazy buffet lines, and you can either chose from room service, the dining room, or outside at the pool deck. Either way there is no wait, the selection is fantastic, and the service as well. Cappuccinos and mimosas included! 😍🥂☕️

I’ve really been enjoying trying a new champagne cocktail every night at the Chanpagne & wine bar onboard. My favorite so far has been the Chambord Royale! If you add on the premium drink package or are in the Yacht Club nearly every beverage onboard is included, which is a great way to try new things! Cheers! 🥂

A beautiful (and hot!) day in Costa Maya today! 🌴 I always love this port simply because there’s a lot of little relaxing spots right near the ship in port if you don’t feel like doing a full excursion day. Today we just did a bit of walking around and local exploring. If you are thinking of doing an excursion however the beaches and Mayan ruins here are a great way to spend the day! 🇲🇽
