Happy ! This week we are shouting out the The Moors Golf Club. They are a private golf facility with a golf course, shop, and dining area. They focus on the golf experience and how to provide an exceptional venue to players who love the game. The club hosts everything from women's and men's weekly leagues to Club Championships to one-on-one instruction. ⛳ 🏌🏽

Happy ! This week we are shouting out the WMU Read Fieldhouse. This facility was named after the WMU head men's basketball coach from 1922 to 1949, Buck Read. It houses the Western Michigan University Athletics women's and men's basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, and indoor track and field teams. Happy National Gymnastics Day! Gymnastics has been around for over 2,000 years but only became a competitive sport a little over 100 years ago. Our very own WMU Broncos Gymnastics team (The Official WMU Gymnastics Fan Page) even took home the 2024 MAC championship title this past spring! Let's celebrate the incredible gymnasts who inspire us to reach new heights today.

Located on Douglas Avenue, this facility has softball and teeball fields as well as playgrounds, public bathrooms, and drinking fountains. It also has spacious grounds for family BBQs and yard games! Happy Facility Friday! This week we are shouting out River Oaks County Park. Named for the 100+year-old oak trees that stretch along the Morrow Lake shore, this facility has 15 fields that host youth/adult leagues and regional tournaments. It features a splash pad for those hot summer days and a dog park to bring your furry friends! There is also a picnic shelter that is perfect for family gatherings. On Friday, August 30th at 6:20pm at Wings West, you can see performances by the skaters who will be heading to the National Finals in Wesley Chapel, Florida next month.

Happy Facility Friday! This week we are shouting out WMU Ebert Softball Field. This facility is home to the Western Michigan University Athletics Softball team and can seat up to 400 fans. It contains a press box, two remodeled dugouts, a pair of batting cages, and a large wrap-around fence with wind screens to help fight windy conditions. Make sure to cheer on the Broncos during their upcoming season🎖️!

Happy National Bowling Day! Did you know that bowling was once banned in America to stop soldiers from gambling on the game and neglecting their duties? Roll on over to a bowling alley today and try your hand at throwing that perfect 300 game! If you want to join a team, Kalamazoo also has a variety of bowling leagues at Airway Fun Center, Continental Lanes, and Revel and Roll.

Happy Facility Friday! We are shouting out Kingdom Indoor Soccer home to Kingdom Soccer Club this week. Founded in 1995, Kingdom Sports has a 60,000-square-foot facility with top-quality playing surfaces. It offers a range of programs, summer camps, and more to improve the soccer skills of players of all ages. Additionally, our local Zoo City FC soccer team plays here. Make sure to stop by and cheer them during their season!

On August 24th, the most over the top baseball game with new rules is coming to Kalamazoo, MI.

The Northern Nut Smugglers will comprise a roster of players exclusively from social media influencers, YouTubers and celebrities. The Kalamazoo Growlers All-Stars will comprise their roster from former players, MLB HR leaders and more.

This is going to be NUTS!

Happy Facility Friday! This week we are shouting out Stowe Stadium. This venue is home to the Kalamazoo College Women's Tennis and Kalamazoo College Men's Tennis teams. The facility has 11 tennis courts with plentiful audience seating. Stowe Stadium also hosts other tournaments throughout the year, ranging from youth-level games to NCAA championships. This August 2 -11, they will host the United States Tennis Association - USTA (Official) Boys' 18 and 16 National Championships so make sure to stop by and see some great games! What a thrill to have one of the most successful years in Western Michigan University Athletics history! Bronco athletes achieved their highest GPA on record, completed the most community service hours in their history, and set a new record for team conference championships in one academic year. We cannot wait to see what happens next in 2024-25!

Happy Facility Friday! This week we are shouting out Western Michigan University Athletics Sorensen Courts. The 8 upper blue-surfaced courts and 12 lower blue-surfaced courts. The upper courts can light up for continued play when the sun sets. Audience members can watch on bleachers surrounding the courts while being surrounded by windscreens to protect the players. This facility also acts as one of the places that the USTA Boys 18's and 16's Super Nationals each year.
