USGS satellite images shows uplift at the summit of Kilauea volcano. Magma is rising and could potentially cause an eruption in the future. Hopefully giving us more beautiful lava views at the summit. 🌋

Happy first day of Winter also known as the Winter solstice. On this day it is the shortest daylight hours. In Hawaii, the sun rise and sun set does not change as dramatically as it does in the upper northern or far southern hemisphere during the year and the sunset occurred at 5:27 pm making it the longest night of the year. Making for beautiful star gazing opportunities all over the island.
