"When the permit office tells you House Rock Valley Road is inaccessible to the Wave due to flooding and rain after trying for permits for months … @dreamlandsafari says challenge accepted.
🌧️ In the days leading up to visiting The Wave, Southern Utah had seen record rainfall. The road is generally considered impassable when wet, and with Georgia in tow, we didn’t want to risk getting stuck in our Jeep. Permits are only valid on the day awarded, and cannot be transferred under any circumstances. If you’re unable to attend on your assigned day, you forfeit those permits and must reapply in the future.
👉🏼 I called Dreamland Safari to see what our options would be, and honestly, we wouldn’t have made it there without them. They made sure we arrived safely when the road is otherwise impassable to most vehicles and we were able to witness these incredible conditions. Our guide Kieran not only drove us out there safely, but hiked in with us, sharing other places we would’ve likely missed otherwise.
If you find yourself in limbo with making it to the wave due to rainfall and atrocious conditions, dont risk getting stuck needing a tow. Don’t give up until you call Dreamland Safari Tours first.
⚠️ Please take these precautions seriously and do NOT attempt to drive House Rock Road when you’re told it’s impassable. We passed multiple vehicles that were stuck requiring a tow costing thousands, and we ourselves would not have made it without Dreamland. Water in the desert can be deadly, and you should heed all warnings when it comes to your safety."
