An Amazing Guide!!!!
We used American West Scenic Adventures as a tour guide for the South Coyote Buttes hike. Jeff was absolutely amazing! From the initial phone call to the day of the hike, everything was great. Jeff was quick to respond to an email request for more information, calling us in just a couple of hours. He was knowlegable about the area and the specific hike we were interested in and he had great suggestions for make the hike even better. He suggested we use the Can-Am to get to the trailhead instead of the Suburban, as it was a quicker and smoother ride. We were worried that we might not fit as we are a tall family (all 6' and over). It was a little tight in the backseat for 3 adults although there was plenty of legroom. The ride in the Can-Am was easier and way more fun than it would have been riding in a car. If you can, definately use the Can-Am - you won't regret it!
The hike itself was amazing! Jeff was great at figuring out our ability levels and pacing the hike accordingly. I am not going to lie, I was a little worried about whether or not we could all do the hike, but Jeff assured us it was quite feasible and he was totally right! He stopped often for rests and water breaks which was important for us Seattlites as we were not used to the altitude, heat and lack of humidity!. Jeff was extremely knowledgable of the area, the geology, and was very conscious of preserving this precious resource. He provided water, fruit, hiking poles, as well as all of the emergency items we could possibly need. He made an amazing hike into an unforgettable memory for all of us.
Jeff also gave us some great ideas for hikes we could do on our own the next day, making the next day another great memory as well!
We cannot recomment Jeff from American West Scenic Adventures enough!!!! He was truly amazing and you will be glad you choose him!
