One of the BEST parts of River cruising is the quick walk-on boarding process. This was me literally walking off the shuttle and right onto the ship when I arrived. No long lines, in fact NO lines at all, no check in stations, no cattle walks with 100-1000’s of people. With River cruising you just walk on go to the reception, pick up your room key and start enjoying your cruise ! Absolutely the BEST !!! Time Lapse Lock passing ! Ever wondered what it would be like to go through an ocean or river lock on a ship! During my recent Rhine River cruise through the Netherlands & Germany, we went through a few different locks. This lock was pretty special as we had to actually go up river, and the ship was locked in while the water level rose enough for us to pass through to the other side of the lock and continue sailing.
