Our Story
For our 5th Valentines day I decided to make this for Phil. I showed it to him last night over a dinner and he loved it:)
We met through Youtube and our entire relationship has been documented on it. I figured it was only appropriate to share it with you guys :)
HOW TO NOT GET LOST IN DUBAI
WATCH IN FULL SCREEN TO READ CAPTIONS
Or just read them down here:
0:11 Alcohol is only available in hotels and is VERY expensive
0:15 So stock up at the Duty Free store in the airport. Each person is allowed 4 bottles
1:14 There are no addresses in Dubai, so finding your way around can be confusing
1:41 Bus Tours are a great way to get familiar with the city, without having to worry about getting lost
1:55 Historically, Dubai's economy was built on the oil industry
2:00 Today, oil only accounts for 5% of their economy. Most money comes from Tourism, Real Estate and Financial services.
2:32 Average rainfall in February is 1.4in. The average temperature is 77F. The summer avg is 104!
2:57 The creek divides two main sections of the city: Deria and Bur Dubai. Both have multiple Souq's. (markets)
3:11 To cross the creek, you can take one of these Abra's. It will only cost you 1DH(25 cents!)
3:47 You can see the Sheikh's face just about anywhere...
4:08 1/5 of the worlds cranes are located in Dubai
4:28 Dubai is quickly beaming a world class luxury tourist destination
4:33 In 2012, more people visited the Dubai mall than New york City (52 million!)
If we had taken this tour BEFORE trying to find the cultural center we wouldn't have gotten lost....
This is a hop on, hop off bus tour. Each ticket is good for 24 hours. Great way to get familiar with the city and get over jet lag without pushing yourself too hard.

BARGAINING IN THE SOUKS- DUBAI
The Souks are easily one of my favorite parts of Dubai. While they can be overwhelming, they're definitely a fun experience. I have to thank these guys for being such great sports and allowing us to film them. I would tell you to go to their shops, but none of the stores had names! So..if you're there..look for them ;)

ABU DHABI ROADTRIP!
Abu Dhabi is the capital and the second largest city of the UAE in terms of population. They have a sh*t ton of money (yes, actual figure) from oil. In 2007 Fortune Magazine and CNN stated that Abu Dhabi is the richest city in the world. It is located on an island that jets out into the Persian Gulf. Abu Dhabi seemed much more laid back than Dubai. I kind of felt like Dubai was New York City and Abu Dhabi was Los Angeles (in terms of overall mood). The city is still very much under construction, though, and I'm sure one day it will be just as busy as Dubai. I can't even begin to express how beautiful Abu Dhabi is. If I ever go back I definitely want to spend more time there!
