It’s nearing time to treat with Barricade. This is a preemergent herbicide meaning it stops w**ds before they start. Works great for broadleaf w**ds that appear in St. Augustine, Bermuda, and Zoysia lawns. Most of the w**ds that are popping up now are cool weather and will naturally die as we heat up.

Here is a prime example of why it’s best to wait to prune after a hard freeze. This bird eye pepper bush is showing new growth at the very tip of what appeared to be a dead stalk.

Raise your hand if you took the gamble and planted your tomatoes already. 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️ Here is a great way to protect those new plants! If you have 3-5gallon nursery pots cut the bottom off fit over tomato and cover with another pot( preferably one without holes) or frost cloth. The nursery pot not only protects the delicate foliage from breaking after covering but the warmth from the soil is trapped around the entire plant.

Disappearing Fountain Update Monday 1/20/25 Katy, Tx low was around 28degrees. We will update tomorrow as long as the roads are safe for travel. We are open till 5pm today.

Follow along with our Disappearing Fountain Freeze Test. We will see how each one does and report back.

Disappearing Fountains will need to be drained for the upcoming freeze. Peter goes through the steps in the following video. *special note for those with pebble pots or slate chip pots drain them TODAY Friday! These pots are more porous and need time to dry** #fountains

We have one pallet of sod! Why might it be a good idea to lay sod in the winter? Answer it’s easier for grass to focus on establishing their root systems which will benefit them during the hot dry summer months.
