Fox Locks

Fox Locks The Fox Locks are the only hand operated, fully restored locks in the nation and are on the National Register of Historic Places.

All but two of the 17 locks are open for navigation, making about 35 miles of the Fox River open for boaters.

In 2001, state law created the Fox River Navigational System Authority. It wasn't until 2004 that ownership of the lock system was transferred from the Army Corps of Engineers to the State of Wisconsin.
