It’s finally here! The GLFC is excited to announce that the award-winning documentary THE FISH THIEF: A Great Lakes Mystery is now available for streaming!

Narrated by Oscar-winning actor J.K. Simmons, the film tells the true story of the remarkable people tackling the mystery of why the most prized fish in the Great Lakes nearly vanished. The near cataclysm destroyed jobs and businesses and devastated towns and Indigenous communities in the United States and Canada.

LAKE ERIE ICE! 🧊

Rapid development of Ice is expected through this weekend on western Lake Erie! This model predicts that over 80% of the western basin of Lake Erie will have ice coverage developing by Sunday morning January 5th.

Now, this is VERY thin ice -- LESS THAN 2" -- in most areas, but with the entire 10 day forecast below freezing this is certain to continue. This is a positive sign for possible Ice fishing at some point on the lake this month.
