The Lincoln Mill clock tower in Biddeford, Maine, originally built in the mid-1800s. This photograph was taken when it was sitting at ground level and was home to many birds. Where is it today? Has it been renovated? I know the goal was to have it installed at RiverWalk.

A view of connected buildings at the Biddeford-Saco historic mills in southern Maine. There are so many old mill buildings clustered within a relatively small area that if you stand in the parking lot at the railway station you can look them over, all the different rooftops looking like a small city.

I See You! Coin-operated viewers like this one at Portland Head Light in Maine, are sometimes called spyglass viewers. Portland Head Light is a historic lighthouse in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. The light station sits on a headland at the entrance of the primary shipping channel into Portland Harbor, which is within Casco Bay in the Gulf of Maine. Completed in 1791, it is the oldest lighthouse in Maine.

This old yellow farmhouse is a landmark on Laudholm Farm, part of the Wells Reserve. It now houses the welcome center. The view from the porch is lovely. Lots of walking trails and some interesting programs on their calendar.

This little red schoolhouse with its two doors, one for boys, and one for girls, is in Alfred, Maine. Note the picture of the outhouse door with its traditional moon symbol.

From Wikipedia: The District No. 5 School, also known as the Alfred Gore School, is an historic one room school at 781 Gore Road in Alfred, Maine. Built in 1872, it was used as a school until 1921, and was restored to its appearance of that time in the 2000s. It is the best-preserved of Alfred's surviving district school buildings, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
