Our guest cottage has been called “The Boathouse” for many years. It is on our property but not connected to our house. It is a studio apartment with full kitchen and bath. It has a large deck for sunning and dining. The cottage has a Murphy bed that sleeps two and a

sleep sofa. It is in first-class condition and tastefully furnished and decorated. The Boathouse sits on the edge of a stream and marsh and is about a hundred yards from a sandy beach (Goose Rocks Beach). The beach is perfect for swimming, fishing, sunning and beach walking. Goose Rocks Beach is a residential community that happens to be on the ocean. The only commercial establishments on the beach are an inn and a general store. We are about six miles from Dock Square (Kennebunkport) with shops, restaurants and galleries. A half hour away is Portland with its many shops, restaurants, theaters and working waterfront. Boston is about ninety minutes to the south. We are very proud of our community and our property. The Boathouse is a rare jewel and we are eager to share it with guests.

Roads Closed due to Storm Damage

The following streets/areas have been closed due to damage from the winter storms. We will share additional updates as they develop.

Colony Beach:

Due to extensive storm damage, Colony Beach is closed to vehicular traffic through the summer of 2024. At this time, we are examining long-term solutions. Limited parking is still available along Parson's Way.

Ocean Avenue - Wandby Beach:

Due to sustained damage from the January 13th storm, Ocean Avenue is closed by Wandby Beach (see map for detail) for everyone's safety. This closure includes vehicles,through traffic, pedestrians, and bicycles. Our goal is to ensure the protection of the surrounding environmental resources and the integrity of the roadway. Repairs will begin in April 2024 and the road should be open in early May.
