What an amazing photo from Dee Will! Thanks for the tag and the shout out!. Did you know that The MV Lituya is the smallest vessel of the AMHS fleet and exclusively provides shuttle service between Ketchikan and Metlakatla, making it the only ferry dedicated to a single route. It's about a 45 minute hop each way. It also is the only vessel with an open car deck!

Make sure they stay safe out there - here are a few tips to make the night a little less scary:
🎃 Be seen - wear bright costumes or reflectors so drivers can see you. It's the BRIGHT thing to do!
🎃 Cross at designated crossing zones.
🎃 Walk on sidewalks when possible.
🎃 Stay alert for traffic.

DRIVERS 🚙, please keep an eye 👁 out for extra pedestrians (and zombies 🧟‍♂️) crossing the street!

🌸 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the Alaska Marine Highway System is proud to stand in solidarity with the Breast Cancer Detection Center of Alaska! 🚢💖

This month, we celebrate the incredible work of their mobile testing center, which travels on our vessels throughout Alaska, bringing essential care to women in small communities who might otherwise lack access to vital screenings. Your health matters, and we’re honored to support their mission as they journey on our ferries all summer long.

Together, let's raise awareness and encourage everyone to prioritize their health. Early detection can make all the difference. Join us in spreading the word! 💕
