Well folks…😡 .official really stuck it to recreational fishermen, fisherwomen and children yesterday by again decreasing the ability for the 99.999999% of the population to catch and keep a King Salmon-Instead of restricting the 0.0000001% of commercial fishermen. As of July 7th nonresident retention for king salmon is officially shut off.
The United States of America shut down commercial hunting in this great country of ours many years ago and it’s time we start to restrict the comm fisheries with bi-catch and negative impacts on our fisheries like commercial herring fishing, commercial trawlers and seiners. Commercial fisheries like the troll fishery that gives them the ability to ethically release shorts and protected species such as Kings when the season closes are the last ones that should be restricted. Restriction charter halibut limits and king salmon retention only hurts our local economies.
