Pro Tip, I’ve been at this a long time, had every clamp on/wrap on/etc lure/dipsy/flasher holder out there. Didnt like any so I made my own and they are fantastic. Zero line nicks, zero movement, store easy, go on/off easy, dirt cheap. Single adhesive weather type stripping and $.99 plactic clamps. Very strong. Very gentle on the gear.

A constant 3 foot wave with an occasional 4 foot wave made it a little more difficult, but we managed!

Somedays God shines down in a magnificent way! Today was one of those days! We launched and set our first lines in at 5:35 AM and by 6:04 AM we were taking a picture of a 10 fish limit. At one point in the mayhem, we had four on at one time. The last three fish in the boat were the last three rods in the water, which is also unheard of. One of these Coho weighed in at over 8 pounds which is again unheard of for early May. To add to the blessing the restaurant we were going to had no parking so we were rerouted to arguably one of the best breakfast restaurants I’ve ever been at. This morning special was the Sicilian omelette and of course it was amazing.

Trip #2 in the books for 2024, we needed every inch of the Hewescrafts deep sides today! 4 footers in 150 FOW but she kept us high and dry….

The Hewescraft broke in 2024 with a bang. Never even got all the rods in the water, limited out on the largest coho Ive ever seen in early May in 1 hour!

Going mobile was the smartest thing we ever did………. 3 man limit in 1 hour 15 minutes in the new Hewescraft this AM, and these coho are getting very big very quickly!

Trip #3 in the books for 2023. We managed another limit of coho but not without a struggle. We had short bites all morning losing quite a few before finally closing the deal.

Trip #2 in the books for 2023. Today was a Hewescraft Day for sure, cold and drizzle to start and then cold rain for hours which drove almost all boats off the lake except of course us…. This crew of up and comers went 23 for 30 with some tanks for early season coho! The Capt kept 5 for himself and sent the boys home with 36 fillets! All in all another blessed day on Lake Michigan!

Trip number 1 in the books for 2023. A three-man limit of Coho candy made for smiles all around. The new Hewescraft performed very well as the big lake was angry all morning.

Breaking the silence and the new Boat in this AM. After selling the Tiara before the season got going up here we were on the hunt for our next vessel. On her maiden voyage the new Hewescraft filled her clients limits with 1 to spare in under 5 hours. Loaded w 5 men she still made 41mph to and from the fishing grounds giving us more time with lures in the water. Lets hope this fishing stays thru August!

Attention boat owners, our slip is available to sublet from Yacht Works in Kewaunee Wisconsin temporarily. We have the very end slip on C DOCK which is arguably the nicest slip in the marina. Yacht Works tells me you can see the office personnel to rent it per night at $2 dollars per foot per night. The boat slip can accommodate up to a 36 foot vessel. We left our ropes and bumper buoys and electrical and water there for your use while we await our next boat to arrive. Call 920 388-2120 to reserve if wanted. You must provide proof of insurance and when renting.

Day 8 ……. Eisenglas day….. Before/After photo, Both sides, all the way around, de-bugged and water spots removed, two different cleaning solutions, 2x each side, this took too many hours, the price is going up soon Dave Rumney…..

Day 2 of getting the boat ready for the 2022 season. Too cold to buff the exterior, plus Church and Mothers Day buffet coma, etc……so we added some interior pics for the potential sale of the vessel. Hoping to finish all buffing today to splash in soon. Stay tuned.
