Craig & Cindy Key West Rentals:

In an effort to clear up questions and rumors regarding Truman Annex going "monthly" in 2026...below are the key facts:

*The City of Key West and Truman Annex/Shipyard have a 20 year agreement that allows for a mixture of monthly rentals and weekly rentals and this agreement expires 12/31/25.

*The 20 year agreement does have a clause that allows it to be amended and extended. Separately Truman Annex and Shipyard are both working with the City to see if such an extension can happen. If the City does nothing...the agreement expires on its own 12/31/25. At present that appears to be the case...but it ain't over until its over.

*If the agreement does expire there are still 12 properties in Shipyard that may continue to rent weekly with no expiration and Craig & Cindy Key West Rentals own 3 of the 12 so we will still be offering weekly rentals in 2026 and beyond regardless of what happens. These 3 Shipyard condos are both 2 bedroom 1 bath and 2 bedroom 2 bath. The rest of our Truman Annex properties will then be offered monthly and we anticipate offering at some special rates during the non-winter months. We also have a 2 bedroom 2.5 bath Coral Hammock Royal Palm House in a gated community at Mile Marker 5 that may continue to rent nightly and weekly.

*I am presently the lead negotiator for Shipyard and our commissioner is Aaron Castillo. If you would like to email him (nicely...please) and let him know that you have rented in Shipyard in the past and would like the opportunity to continue to do so...please email him at [email protected]

*For those contemplating a vacation in Key West either this year or next year...we do recommend booking your week in 2025 so that you potentially have more options.

UPDATE: The 2 bedroom 2 bath Truman Annex Shipyard Condo 160 has been booked. We do have a 2 bedroom 1 bath Truman Annex Shipyard Condo open 5/10-17 at $2500/wk plus tax in case that might be of interest.

Cancellation alert! Our extremely popular 2 bedroom 2 full bath first floor Truman Annex Shipyard Condo Unit 160 had been sold out until the end of June but just had a cancellation for 5/10/25-5/17/25.
