Our Naturalist Guide, Jamie Sorbelli, took this pic on her 9 am paddle tour this morning launching from the Geiger Key Paddle Hut.
This mature, Little Blue Heron is obviously looking for Love in the mangroves with his gorgeous, blue & purple plumage.
* The little blue heron is protected by the U.S. Migratory Bird Treaty Act and as a State Threatened species by Florida’s Endangered and Threatened Species Rule.
