Chris has a 24' Bay boat that can handle up to 4 persons capable of fishing the backcountry and the near shore patch reefs. He also uses and a technical flats fishing skiff for stalking the grand slam. Fly fishing or spin fishing Capt. Chris is very capable and accommodating.

November 11, 2024 Florida Keys fishing report. For this fishing report we really hate to put up a weather related image, especially when its going to suck.. The winds have certainly been pretty unforgiving these last weeks (month) with only a few days of reprieve since hurricane Milton making things challenging offshore from Key Largo to Key West.

Coming up with have a new low that will (according to GFS Model) will cross Cuba and affect Keys waters with possible Trop Force winds Wednesday - ish. After that the LRF (Long Range Forecast) has winds back to our new normal of ENE to E at 20+.. Of course we are all hoping for some relief.. This has been the windiest October - November we have seen in many years here. Not a big help for our number one income source - tourism.

As one can imagine the deep sea boats have been hit or miss getting out with reports of Kingfish already on the reef and smaller sailfish chewing on the massive amounts of ballyhoo. Some of the reef boats have been making it work for the yellowtail bite in the banged up water- Chum is the answer there.. The backcountry fishing has been pretty good with reports of bonefish on the flats, baby tarpon in the hide-e-holes and a good top water flats barracuda bite out of Key West.

We will say this.. Fishing charter bookings for December and beyond are really picking up we are getting lots of calls. Rooms rates seem to be pretty static not up and not really lower which can be a huge indicator for us here to know how things look on the long term. We recommend folks to give your favorite guide a call before they get sold out if you plan on visiting during a peak such as Thanks Giving, Christmas or New Years. You might also want to discuss what happens if the weather sucks... J/S.

Wish the report was better.. seems the fishing is pretty good if you can get to them..
