If you look up the description of a bike I’m not there. It’s more like hanging out with Lloyd on a botanical bike ride and stopping 20 times to taste all kinds of tropical fruit, sample the aroma of exotic flowers and spices, drinking and eating fresh coconut, listening to jokes and stories about the old Key West, rolling past famous writers houses, meeting real locals, and even having an impromptu percussion session in a gazebo overlooking the ocean in a botanical garden inside a civil war fort. My bike tour is a botanical field trip. It takes 2 hours to travel 4 miles because I stop 20 times to sample fruits, flowers, spice trees and nut trees. I tell my people stories of my 50 years in key west and how it’s changed. I make people laugh the whole time. The fruit trees and flowers are vanishing as key west turns into suburbia USA. This 11 year old girl was completely engaged on the tour as I connected her to the true key west.

This is the old key west for me. Thanksgiving day at fort Zack . Good music, healthy food, good vibes, mellow trip, this was the way key was all the time all over the place.

Frozen Spanish limes are the way to go

You can’t get anything like Lloyds bike tour on anything but Lloyds bike tour……..

My bike tour is a slice of life reality show as opposed to some exercise thing. The tour takes place in the quiet neighbourhoods away from downtown and tourists attractions. There are at least 15 stops in shady places to sample fresh off the tree organic fruit, some you’ve never heard of. We pick spice tree leaves like bay rum which was used for cologne and get a good sniff. We stop for more aromatherapeutic moments and sample the amazing flowers of the cannonball tree and many others. I’m a comical person and there are quite a few jokes you might laugh at or maybe not. My tour is a health spa treatment. I can slice a piece of fresh aloe for a sunburn or bite. I will chop open coconuts for water and meat, and towards the end we even have a musical interlude with percussion instruments in a beautiful gazebo overlooking the ocean in an old fort transformed into a garden club. The easy going Bike riding is just the means of getting us from one thing to the next. Let me show you the real key west. https://lloydstropicalbiketour.com/
