Aloha, Are you coming to Maui this Christmas? Please plan ahead as many Luaus and boats are not open due to the wildfires. The few that are open will be very busy. Especially during our whale season, Maui lost many boats in the fire so give us a call or book online.We have tried to keep our website up to date as more businesses reopen. Sunrise up on Haleakala gives you a view like no other. The skies can look like they are on fire from your 10,000-foot elevation view. You need a reservation now if you are planning on watching the sunrise at Haleakala on your own.

Enjoy a tour that will pick you up at your resort and drive you up early in the morning. Watch the sunrise and then go have a wonderful breakfast at a beautiful restaurant that sits at the bottom of crater road.

Aloha , the wildfires on Maui have been more than heart-wrenching. Our hearts and prayers go out to all the families. Our hearts are broken for our Lahaina families. The devastation of the Lahaina fires is unfathomable. The layers of grief that our entire community is feeling will take lots of time to unravel and lots of time to rebuild. Here on Maui, we are a close community that Kokua (help) one another in times of hardship, and the outpour of love and action that took place after the fires was nothing short of amazing. We are still mourning and broken here, but the 'Ohanas (families) that are supporting the ones that have lost everything still need to work and support our households so that we can malama (take care) of them.

Maui is OPEN! Lahaina is closed but Maui is OPEN. All of Maui's small business owners still need visitors to come and support local businesses so that we can continue to support all of our families and friends from Lahaina. Please consider still coming to Maui in the coming months.

If you come to Maui please plan to bring in some donations to those in need here. We have had gift cards donated to us from others to give directly to families that are in need. This is a great idea if you are wanting to donate. Then families can use these Visa Gift Cards for what they truly need.

Plan to stay OUT of Lahaina for the entirety of your trip. And please plan to spend as much of your vacation money at small local businesses as possible while you are here in Maui.

I know there seems to be a lot of misinformation out there so here is the governor and Mayors address that Maui is open to all that will be respectful and support our small local businesses.

Aloha, I just wanted to let guests know how proud and humbled I am to work at Sugar Beach Resort. We have the most caring homeowners I have had the privilege to know for 30 years. We here at Maui Sights & Treasures have had so many calls from our homeowners to see how they might help. Since we know many of the families that have lost everything, homeowners are sending us gift cards for us to give directly to these local families. The Austins and the Lockharts have been soooo generous
As Coalette delivered these $100.00 gift certs these families cry with joy. It means so much to them .
Mahalo Plenty to our homeowners your generosity will never be forgotten

The Pools of ʻOheʻo in the Kīpahulu District are absolutely beautiful to see but are not accessible for entry due to a number of safety concerns. There are still beautiful hiking trails that you can do to explore the beauty that Kīpahulu has to offer.

These pools are past the town of Hana and are usually one of the last stops you make before turning around.

Aloha and Mahalo for all the emails, phone calls and texts to check on our safety here at Maui Sights & Treasures at Sugar Beach Resort . We are fine on the South end of Maui. Lahaina is gone and just saying that makes us cry.
Many of you have asked how you can help the residents of Maui that have lost everything. There are 300 homes lost and many displaced people and animals.
We have done some research to find the best donation sites that will help Maui’s families and pets.

Aloha from Maui Sights & Treasures,it's a sad day on Maui .So much devastation in Lahaina town .Over 300 homes gone in a blink of an eye.SIx people confirmed have been lost.
Please pray for all that have been affected.
Want to help, donate to the Red Cross or Maui Food banks ..Maui is strong ,it will be a while to rebuild but we are strong ....before pic of Lahaina harbor...bottom is today .sooo sad 😔

The Road to Hana is a beautiful yet long and windy road. This is Maui's Rainforest and is a MUST-SEE while here. The Hāna Highway (HI-360) has 620 curves and 59 one-lane bridges. The road leads you through flourishing rainforests, flowing waterfalls, plunging pools, and dramatic seascapes.

Why not let a local guide pick you up from your resort and take you to all the MUST SEES on this road. The road to Hana does not have many signs or clear indications of where to stop. Lighting the Sky on Fire🌅🔥 The Samoan fire knife dance (‘ailao afi) is a relatively modern interpretation taken from ancient gestures of victory in battle using the nifo oti or “deadly tooth,” a hand-held wooden weapon.

In more modern times, after village, tribal and interisland warfare faded into history, the nifo oti has become an important element in the Samoan ta’alolo or gift-giving procession that honors special visitors.
