The World's Longest Serving Flight Attendant Has Died

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bette Nash, the world's longest-serving flight attendant.

Bette Nash was a true aviation icon. In 2022, she etched her name in history by becoming the record holder for the world's longest-serving flight attendant, a remarkable feat at the age of 86. Sadly, her career in the skies, which spanned over 65 years, was grounded when cancer claimed her wings and recently forced her into an assisted care center.

American Airlines confirmed her passing with a post saying: "We mourn the passing of flight attendant Bette Nash, who spent nearly seven decades warmly caring for our customers in the air. She started her career in 1957 and proudly held the Guinness World Record for the longest-serving flight attendant. Bette was a legend at American and throughout the industry, inspiring generations of flight attendants. Fly high, Bette. We’ll miss you."

Maui is open, Lahaina is closed.

I’ve seen this posted all over the place and the comments are filled with Lahaina lovers who sound like they have never been to South Maui. I agree Lahaina is a special place that could never be duplicated but it’s closed for now.

So please move your reservations to a Kihei Condo or Wailea Hotel and come see all that South Maui (Kihei/Wailea) has to offer. We need your business to help the island recover.

PLEASE SHARE THIS ON EVERY THREAD YOU SEE WHERE PEOPLE ARE WONDERING IF THEY SHOULD CANCEL THEIR VACATION. OR FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NEVER STAYED IN SOUTH MAUI.
