TRAFFIC ALERT: On Friday, November 29 and Saturday, November 30 beginning at 9:00 pm, the hauling of module homes for the state’s Ka Laʻi Ola housing site in Lahaina will take place. The transport caravan will move the homes from the staging area near the Kahului small boat ramp along Kahului Beach Road to Lahaina.

The transport for the FEMA Kilohana project is scheduled , beginning at 8 p.m., Saturday, November 30 and Sunday, December 1. There may be up to two hauls to Lahaina scheduled per night. The transport caravan will move the homes from Hansen Road to the project site north of the Lahaina Bypass.

Motorists may encounter traffic slowdowns and stops in both directions along the route due to the size of the modular units. There will also be escorts during the transport. Highway users should heed all signs along with directions from traffic controllers.

The World's Longest Serving Flight Attendant Has Died

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bette Nash, the world's longest-serving flight attendant.

Bette Nash was a true aviation icon. In 2022, she etched her name in history by becoming the record holder for the world's longest-serving flight attendant, a remarkable feat at the age of 86. Sadly, her career in the skies, which spanned over 65 years, was grounded when cancer claimed her wings and recently forced her into an assisted care center.

American Airlines confirmed her passing with a post saying: "We mourn the passing of flight attendant Bette Nash, who spent nearly seven decades warmly caring for our customers in the air. She started her career in 1957 and proudly held the Guinness World Record for the longest-serving flight attendant. Bette was a legend at American and throughout the industry, inspiring generations of flight attendants. Fly high, Bette. We’ll miss you."
