Some great info!! 🌺
At the end of a visit to Maui Nui and as travelers start packing their bags 🧳 to head home ✈️, oftentimes thereʻs the realization that beach toys (including boogie boards, beach chairs , beach umbrellas ⛱, foam noodles, snorkel gear 🤿 & more), are just not going to fit in a suitcase. The tendency then is to throw these items away, which adds to our landfill. Thankfully, there are better ways to mālama (to care for) Maui Nui! Here are a few Beach Toys🏄♂️ recycling tips:
o Donate the items to Goodwill, Salvation Army or Boys & Girls Club. (Goodwill is located at 250 Alamaha Street, Suite N9, Kahului. Salvation Army is located at 35 Halekuai St, Kihei. Boys & Girls Club is located at 100 Kanaloa Ave., Kahului.)
o Find a local resident who can repurpose them for family and friends.
o Check with the accommodations you’re staying at to see if they’re able to “find a home” for the items.
o Before you give the items away, please make sure they are in good working condition and there are no safety issues.
Mahalo! 😎
