Kamaole 1, often referred to as “Kam 1,” is one of the most popular beaches in Kihei 🏖️

What makes it special, besides its stunning white sand and crystal-clear waters, is its role as a fantastic spot for whale watching and snorkeling 🤿

During the whale season from December to April, you can often spot humpback whales breaching and spouting offshore. It’s like having a front-row seat to one of nature’s most majestic performances! 🐋🌴

YES!!! Such a great beach! We love it!

Charley Young is a lesser known, intimate nook that maintains a tranquil atmosphere. It is also a great beach in Kihei for kids.

Some great info!! 🌺

At the end of a visit to Maui Nui and as travelers start packing their bags 🧳 to head home ✈️, oftentimes thereʻs the realization that beach toys (including boogie boards, beach chairs , beach umbrellas ⛱, foam noodles, snorkel gear 🤿 & more), are just not going to fit in a suitcase. The tendency then is to throw these items away, which adds to our landfill. Thankfully, there are better ways to mālama (to care for) Maui Nui! Here are a few Beach Toys🏄‍♂️ recycling tips:

o Donate the items to Goodwill, Salvation Army or Boys & Girls Club. (Goodwill is located at 250 Alamaha Street, Suite N9, Kahului. Salvation Army is located at 35 Halekuai St, Kihei. Boys & Girls Club is located at 100 Kanaloa Ave., Kahului.)
o Find a local resident who can repurpose them for family and friends.
o Check with the accommodations you’re staying at to see if they’re able to “find a home” for the items.
o Before you give the items away, please make sure they are in good working condition and there are no safety issues.

We last visited Maui in January of 2020. Little did we know what was to come. We had to pivot like everyone else, deal with an empty vacation rental and try to keep things from falling apart. The condo was empty for 8 months. When we could welcome guests again it was a happy day! We arrived on Maui Jan 1/2022 and it felt so good - a wave of relief to get back to our little piece of paradise at the Royal Mauian. The next few days will be painting, replacing linens, cleaning carpet, repairing blinds, etc…. We could not be happier to work! Mahalo Maui! 🌺🏝Happy to be here!
