Did you know, with the money that has been generously donated to date in our "Caring for Camp" Capital Campaign, we have fully completed several large projects at Silver Maple Camp! The screenshot below from our website shows the 3 phases of the campaign and the projects planned/completed in each. You can learn more about what has been accomplished and our original plans by visiting https://silvermaplecamp.org/support/ . Thank you to those who have donated to get us to this milestone!

The next project on the list is renovating both bath houses. The girls' bath house will be expanded to double capacity; and both will be renovated and upgraded to be more modern, safer, and ADA compliant. We have our eye on a large grant to help us complete this next project, but we must first raise 40% of the total cost for the project (which comes to $167,000 needed) before we can apply for the grant and begin construction.

Can you help us reach this next goal? We ask that you prayerfully consider the part you can play in the future of SMC and all the lives it touches each year. No gift is too small!

Happy New Year! We pray you all had a blessed time surrounded by family this holiday season.

After finalizing our books for 2023, our official total raised toward the Caring for Camp capital campaign now stands at just under 3/4 of our overall goal! This is such exciting news and we've already been able to accomplish some great things thanks to your generosity and support.

We still have a little ways to go though. As you make plans for 2024, we hope you will consider including SMC and this campaign in your financial budget. Our most immediate goal/need is to raise $167,000 in order to meet the minimum requirements to apply for a huge matching grant. Once we raise these funds, we will officially be able to break ground on renovations and upgrades for both bath houses. Please prayerfully consider what support you can provide - every dollar matters!

Don't hesitate to reach out with any questions. We can't wait to see what God does at SMC in 2024!

Registration for the Fall Ladies Retreat 10/6-7 is now open!

The Ladies Retreat this year will be hosted by the Lyons and McPherson churches of Christ and the theme will be: I Am His 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Friday will begin 4:30PM (Supper served at 6PM)
Saturday will begin 8AM
Register $50 for both days or $25 for one day.

Someone had asked about a LIST OF WHAT TO BRING FOR CAMP…Someone found this and this is what they posted-below. These are just suggestions-you DO NOT HAVE TO GO BUY ITEMS-just do you!

Here is a list I found to get you started.

1.Bible
2. Sunscreen and bug spray
3. A couple pens or pencils
4. Enough clothes for the week - shorts for the day and worship clothes in the evening. Make sure you have some items you don’t mind getting dirty. Each session has a different dress code for worship. Nice jeans or pants and a clean collared shirt is the standard in most sessions for the boys. If girls want to wear dresses that’s great but the dresses still need to meet all the standard clothing requirements below.
Standard Clothing Requirements:
a. Modest shorts
b. Tank tops straps should be at least 2” wide
c. No spaghetti straps
d. Shirt should cover the full mid-section
e. No holes in cloths making them reveling
f. No underwear\bra (of any kind) should be visible
g. No shirts with inappropriate sayings or adds
h. No low cut neckline shirts or shirts that gape open
5. Shoes – flip-flops are okay but most campers will want tennis shoes for some activities. High heels are not recommended as it is
hard to walk on the paths with them.
6. Sleeping bag or sheets for a single bed– the cabins are kept very cold by the campers and a blanket will be needed.
7. Pillow
8. Bathroom supplies – towels, soap, deodorants, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, hair brush, hair products, etc. most bring a caddy or bag of some sort to hang in the shower stall and carry back and forth.

Optional activities supplies:
1. Swimsuit – 1 piece for girls or a swim shirt to be kept on over a two piece
2. Baseball glove
3. Hat
4. Fishing pole and any other fishing tackle
5. Basketball shoes
6. Sunglasses
Special needs:
Medications - Healthcare equipment or medications need to be reviewed with the staff so that it is used and stored properly.
Food and Drinks:
1. All other meals are provided during the week as well as an afternoon snack at the canteen.
2. Campers do NOT need any additional food during the week but can bring small candies and treats to share with their cabins and
friends. Large quantities of food stored in the cabins attract bugs and are discouraged.
Things that should not come to camp:
1. Weapons – guns, knives, weapons of any kind.
2. Stereos – most sessions will allow music with head phones but it is preferred to leave it all at home. Camp is a time to get away from
things like this.
3. Cell phones – We would ban them completely if we could but there are always a couple parents that insist they will not leave their
kids without one. There is a phone at the camp if someone needs to be contacted. Once again, camp is a time to get way from such
things.
4. Jewelry, watches, electronics and other expensive or easily damaged items are best left at home.
5. Water guns or balloons – If these items are needed they will be provided equally to everyone and kept outside the buildings.
6. No money is needed during the camp week – Once the camper’s registration fee is paid, there is no need for additional money at camp.
7. A solid color (not white) blank cotton shirt if they’d like to guarantee participation in a bleach dye/screen printing craft.

📢 Join us and make a difference! 🙌 Our spring work day turned out to be much colder than expected, which made painting impossible. With camp set to begin in just a little over a week, we're urgently seeking volunteers to help us bring color to cabin Timothy and the Canteen. Rest assured, we have all the necessary supplies ready to go!

If you're available on July 7th or 8th (or any time before that, if you prefer), we would greatly appreciate your assistance. Simply let us know if you're able to lend a hand. Your support in getting the camp ready means the world to us! Thank you in advance for your incredible help! 🌈🏕️

Session 3 will be July 23-29. What better way to close out the summer than spending time at Silver Maple Camp with Christ-minded friends, worshipping God and enjoying fun activities together. Here is info from our website where you can read even more about 3rd session:

Third session invites youth ages 9-18 to come together for a spirit-filled week of camp. Since we have a larger age range, it allows for families with multiple ages of children to attend camp together. This is traditionally Silver Maple Camp’s largest session which makes for fantastic singing and devotional time. Youth are split by age groups during classes and mixed like families during various activities. Third session has a strong staff of adult counselors, many of which are former campers or parents of campers.

In 2023 we are in search of the TRUTH! We will be spending the week talking about where to find the truth, how to know it is true, what untruth is and what it means to pursue truth. Throughout the week we will be working to understand the value of honesty, how it is important to you and to those around you. We will also be walking through the Old Testament, one story at a time, knitting together many of the stores kids learn in their youth but struggle to know where they fit in the larger layout of God’s word.
