Today I had the absolute honor of doing a maternity/bo***ir inspired session- and a bridal bo***ir session at Hillside Oak Studio.
The studio is absolutely stunning. So much natural light- and just a gorgeous home!! The shots I got here today are beyond amazing. (Tiny sneak p*ek below!)

Huge thank you to Five Blossoms Farm for the gorgeous flowers (as always) for our milk bath portion of the maternity session. I repurposed our flowers at the end and put them on display at the studio.

Master the art of studio lighting in our specialized workshop taught by pro-photographer Edward Wright.
Learn the fundamentals of light behavior, lighting equipment & selection and key lighting setups for portraits.
Explore techniques & genre specific lighting strategies that will empower you to create captivating studio images.

The second half of the workshop will be spent putting what you learned into action capturing model Michelle Batchatis in portraits you will want to showcase in your portfolio.

Lighting equipment will provided - only a camera is required

Memorial Day weekend is a wash out but it’s dry on our covered patio.
Our photo meet-up on Monday is sold out but we are still welcoming guests who are interested in touring the studio, getting a BTS look at what our events look like & doing some networking. Stay for our 4:00PM happy hour 🍷

Let’s enjoy this day off shooting & networking with photographers & models. We’ll spend the 1st half of the shoot in the studio. For the 2nd half we’ll go outside & shoot poolside.
Each photographer gets 1 on 1 time with each model. This event is limited to 8 photographers so don’t wait to buy your ticket.
Additionally, we would like to welcome participants as well as guests who simply are interested in touring the studio & pool for future photoshoots to stay for our Memorial Day after party from 4:00-5:00pm.
♨️ We will have a special guest on site - Julian with will be bringing his espresso bar, serving lattes, specialty coffee, cold brew & our (Edy’s) personal favorite iced shaken espresso ☕️

We had the pleasure of having back in the studio this weekend. And not only was she here but so was Leron of & ***ir 🤩

Naturally, we had to get a shot of them with the masterpiece they created here a few months ago.

The print is nearly impossible to photograph as it’s printed on pearl paper & reflects everything but you get the idea.

It now hangs in the studio.

Like a Paint n Sip but with Make-up!

Hey CLT ladies: have you wanted your everyday makeup to look more natural? Or are you afraid to wear makeup at all?

This class will teach you all the tips & tricks for achieving that everyday look at home.

Hillside Oak is a venue for creatives & the perfect place to host a group of ladies looking for a fun & educational afternoon. There will be music, games & prizes. You bring your own snacks & sips.

Although the class is 2 hours, you should later be able to do this at home in about 15-20 minutes.

We will go over skin prep, foundation/concealer, a bright eye & a natural lip. And finally, you will learn how to highlight your best features (basic contouring). Remember, we are not going for a glam or party look … this is natural makeup that you can wear everyday.

Everyone will have their own station, with a mirror & accessories. You can apply your makeup with your hand, a makeup brush that you bring, or a p**f. (P**f included in accessories!)
We do ask that you bring your own makeup (listed below). No need to go out & buy anything (unless you've been looking for a reason to!). Just bring what you have & we will work with it. If there is anything you don’t have, we are happy to share from our kit.

Please make sure to arrive on time, or early. Hillside Oak looks like a house so please don't be confused when Google maps brings you to a gravel driveway ... you're at the right place!

If you’ve never been out to Hillside Oak Studio in Kings Mtn, NC, this is the perfect day for you! Tour the studio, try out a new lighting technique, meet up with a model, create some content for your Instagram. Whatever inspires you, pay $25 to book the 1st hour & then $25 for each additional hour you stay, day of.
There will be other artists in the studio, since this is an “Open Studio” day. We have over 1,800 square feet of shooting space including 2 bedrooms, an oversized bathroom, spacious living room (with Christmas decor) & open kitchen PLUS a wooded 30 acres so there is plenty of room!
