✨ No experience? No problem! With the help of AmericanMeadows, we planted an almost half-acre wildflower field this fall. Their 100% pure, non-GMO seeds and beginner-friendly guidance made it so easy. 💬
🌾 Here’s what we did:
1️⃣ Cleared old tree stumps, tilled twice, and used a drag harrow to loosen the topsoil a few days later.
2️⃣ Mixed most of the seed (10 lbs. of Perennial Beauty, 5 lbs. of Native Southeast, 5 lbs. of Bee Banquet) with 8 parts sand to 1 part seed — saving 3-4 lbs. for touch-ups later.
3️⃣ Spread the seed and sand mixture, tamped it down, and topped it lightly with straw.

Welcome Phoenix! 🐕🫶🏻Some time ago, we were offered the chance to adopt a dog that needed a new home. We’ve been quietly considering a companion for our sweet rescue Maple since our Yorkie Simon passed away years ago; but we felt the right opportunity would come at the right time to open our hearts to another. The previous owner was adjusting to the arrival of their newborn and full-time jobs, making it difficult for them to make the hard decision 😢. Initially, they just couldn’t let him go, which I empathized with and know must be incredibly hard.Now, after some time and careful consideration, they decided it was best for him to be in an environment where he could thrive with room to run and exert his energy while having a loving home. We should never shame someone for doing what’s best for them and the animal by rehoming. 🫶🏻 Though we’ve never owned an Aussie, I’ve always admired their beauty and intelligence, even knowing they are very high energy. Since Maple has always gotten along well with other animals and we have acreage for him to run - we decided to give Phoenix a loving home when the opportunity came around once again. Meet Sir Phoenix. Energetic, loving, playful, and smart; he’s 16 months old and full of life. We hope our guests will be a little patient with Phoenix as we train him to his new environment. Maple on the other hand, 😂 is letting him know who the queen is. As a pet friendly @airbnb we strive to offer a beautiful home as well as a place for your pups to run and play.
