Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure is now open at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. As a Muggle you can choose a motorbike or a side car to ride through the Forbidden Forest and experience Hagrid’s collection of mystical creatures. With Hagrid as your guide, what could possibly go wrong? As the longest roller coaster in Florida, you will have 7 launches, a backward free fall, and a surprise encounter with the Devil’s Snare. Just watch out for that 3-headed dog, Fluffy. There is also a new nighttime show and a new BigFire restaurant at CityWalk.

New Arcade System is coming to Tropical Retreat! Our original arcade system was installed in 2007. Technology has greatly improved and the number of available cabinet arcade games has vastly increased—in fact now we have every arcade game in every edition ever produced in our new machine. Our new system has over 6000 arcade games--all easily found with an improved game selection wheel. Of course the most significant addition are the laser pistols. Guests can choose any of 100+ shooter games to save us from ghouls, ghosts, vampires, zombies, dinosaurs, and other menacing villainous creatures. If you like Golden Tee, we have all 24 editions ready for you. Of course all games are set to FREE play—no quarters required.

"Just wish it was our house!!!

We've had the pleasure of staying at a different house on the Emerald Isle Resort before and didn't think we'd find a better property, however that was before staying at the Tropical Retreat!

The house is just incredible! The attention to detail is second to none, from the subtle yet pleasing Disney / Tropical theme running through every room, fantastic quality furnishings and appliances to the ultimate games room; you have to see it to believe it!

We had the pleasure of staying here for 2 weeks over Christmas and our only regret is not being able to stay longer. There is massive amounts of storage (important, as we don't travel light and tend to add to our wardrobes whilst on holiday), a great kitchen for when you fancy making a home cooked meal, a lovely (warm) pool and comfy seating area outside (perfect for unwinding after a long hectic day at Disney) and cosy lounge with the most impressive entertainment system we have ever experienced!

During our stay we did have a couple of small items crop up (nothing to get upset about, but worth notifying Terry (the owner) about) and the response was second to none. Reply to our email within a day and then the items addressed by a very polite and helpful maintenance man the very next day!

The location is second to none, 5-10 mins to Disney, easy access to several good supermarkets (2 Walmarts and 2 Publix within 5-10 mins drive) but sufficiently secluded that you don't feel you're in a busy tourist area; we did the Emerald Isle nature walk several times, whilst walking to the club house and you really do feel like you're in the 'wild' rather than in a gated community.

The bottom line is you know you've chosen the right place for a holiday, when you're kids say, 'I wish this was our house' and you need to offer them incentives to visit a theme park!

If you're looking for a holiday rental that is close to all the big attractions, but offers enough entertainment onsite so that you don't feel you need to be going out everyday, then this is the place to stay. We really can't recommend the Tropical Retreat highly enough and we're already saving and planning for our next trip." - Alex C.
