FRIDAY IS POOL DAY- I HAD A QUESTION
I wasn’t home last Friday when the pool attendant dropped by; however, I did have a question, so I caught up with him yesterday morning.
We lost some top lanai screens during the hurricane, and it was my impression perhaps pine needles had blown in and caused some staining in the spa. I was wrong. Apparently the stain is caused from some kind of metal ( a pool’s nemesis 😞). Common culprits are copper coins, hair pins or barrettes, jewelry and any other foreign metal objects.
Although the source of these particular stains still leave us puzzled (maybe little metal filings from the lanai frame when the screens were being replaced? 🤷♀️), the solution is a little complicated and will require draining the spa for two separate treatments. We completed the first treatment yesterday and were successful in removing most of the stain. The process will have to be repeated a second time in January.
While I had the pool company here, we also did a treatment to remove some film buildup on the glass tile… a few spots where I felt my own cleaning from the other day had not been sufficient.
TIP: Keeping foreign objects out of the pool and showering off excessive sunscreen before entering the pool, will prevent stains and extend the life of the pool surface, making your swimming experience more enjoyable.
The pool is a much happier place today for having received this love!
HOLINIGHTS - THE PROMENADE, SUNSET WALK
Traffic around the Christmas tree is always busy with professional photographers, and families getting their photos in, too.
TIP: take your photo or video and do your editing later. In this video, there were people passing by constantly. I just shot the video and later cropped them out.
ANOTHER TIP:
For daytime parades, I like to stand on the train station platform. It provides an unobstructed view, and, because many of the floats are so tall, it allows you to see some of the characters eye-to-eye. The characters frequently give a special wave to the platform area.
We got to benefit from the fireworks next door at Maingate this evening. They went on for at least 20 minutes!
We picked up a Meat Feast pizza from the Market Place & Grill late afternoon yesterday and then heated it up a couple hours later when we were ready for supper. 😋
