I received this postcard from clients who arrived at Grand Velas Riviera Maya yesterday. They were upgraded to this beautiful suite at arrival and said they’ve been super impressed with the service. The Grand Velas properties are all-inclusive and have locations in Riviera Maya, Cabo, and Riviera Nayarit. These properties are known for their top notch service, great food & beverage, and their amazing family programs (Grand Velas Riviera Maya won best family program at Virtuoso week in 2019)...they’re basically the Four Seasons of all-inclusive hotels. If you are looking to keep your kids entertained without sacrificing luxury/service this is definitely the place (they have a kid’s club and a teen’s club). The price point is higher than most all-inclusive hotels (starting around $1k per night) but like my clients said yesterday, “This place is amazing! Dorado Beach is located in Puerto Rico and is Ritz Carlton Reserve property. What does Ritz Carlton Reserve mean? It’s the most special, luxurious properties within the Ritz Carlton collection! They are one-of-a-kind boutique hotels that have a real sense of place...far from a cookie-cutter or corporate feel that can be commonplace with some of the larger hotel groups. Dorado Beach is a client favorite, and I’ve had plenty of guests go back multiple times. Since Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory a passport is not required for American citizens (which has been very helpful since passport processing has been VERY backed up).

The property is split into two sections -> East Beach & West Beach, and I always break down the difference for clients so we are picking the best fit for them. There are just over 100 rooms on property but you have all the amenities that you’d find at a resort 3X it’s size. The property is great for both couples AND families. The rooms are beautiful and many feature private plunge pools! The resort features a tanquil, infinity-edge pool with private cabanas, a family-friendly pool, and a weekend waterpark with slides and lazy river. The Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ambassadors of the Environment program inspires guests to connect with the world around them in hopes that they will work towards preserving it for future generations. The program highlights Puerto Rico’s rich native culture and unique ecosystem through immersive experiences designed for children, adults and families.

There are a wide variety of experiences available- everything from kayaking in the ocean to exploring local Puerto Rican culture or playing a round of golf on one of the resort’s two golf courses.

If you are traveling with a larger group or want a little extra privacy there is a 5 bedroom beachfront estate with private pools that is available to rent (last two photos in the slide are of the Villa). Dorado Beach is a little slice of heaven and is perfect for a quick getaway.
