West Hills Christmas Light Show This light display is over 15 years in the making. The current show is now in its 11th year and thanks to everyone who comes out to watch it.

Notice: I personally do not live at the house so according to my Papaw the show survived the heavy winds today. That means the show ran tonight and the last day will be Friday night. Tear down starts Saturday. Thank you for all that came by this year.

I've been informed the show isn't performing like it should.
I beleive the cold is affecting the electronics. I can't do any troubleshooting tonight unfortunately. Apologies to those who came tonight. But I'll look at them for tomorrow's show.

The show is live!
Thank you for those who waited today. I've had some firmware issues that I just now figured out. I've only got my old show running for now so the new lights aren't as prominent. I'll add the newer one soon.

Hello Everyone! The saying slow as Christmas is true for us this year.
I am excited to announce that this year's show will be live starting November 29th! We have some repairs to the show itself that will take some time so next weekend, the setup will start.
We are excited to see all the people this year! Stay tuned.

Lights are dark for 2023.
We have set up West Hills Christmas lights for over 25 years. We started as a static display and soon converted over to animating lights to music around 2006. And for the second time in this span of our display I have made the decision to take a break for this Christmas season. We appreciate all the support we have gotten over the years and hope that this does not disappoint many. This year overall has been incredibly busy and short. Creating this light display takes a great deal of time, and unfortunately, I have not been able to dedicate the time and attention to the show that it requires. I thank all those for your understanding.

A snowy suprise! The show looks so much better covered in snow.
If you do plan on coming out, please be aware that the stop sign section tends to freeze up in black ice so just be cautious. Also please do not pull into the grass.
We've lost count to how many cars have ended up in our yard and stuck over the years.

Merry Christmas Eve! Our show will be on tonight. TVA has been doing 15min blackouts. If power ends up getting turned off, once power is resumed, the show will resume once the network boots back up.
Quick power facts. Our show still uses the older incandescent lights along with new rgb lights. At 2K RGB and ~15K incandescent our show if ran at full brightness all on at same time we would only be using as much amps as running an electric stove. ~61amps.
We have the RGB set at a only 30% max output capped. And the incandescent rarely on full power at the same time. Our light show draws well under the 61max amps. While I recognize I can make it even more efficient, the shows actually more energy efficient then one might realize compared to a static display.

The wind and cold may have caused some additional issues however as Charlie Brown one said about his little tree "i don't care, ill decorate it and it will be just right"

I swung by the show today and everything is testing great. The show is back to running.
I suppose with all the rain the controls needed to dry out.

Rain rain go away. Your messing up everyone's light shows.
Our show is currently down untill i am able to decipher what has happened. Some of the lights are malfunctioning. I may just have to let the control boards dry out.

Note: I am still having programming issues due to the loss of the most recent updated programs. But I use my 6yo as the judge and he cant tell.

We are way behind on setup this year. I was sick last weekend and injured my hand on Monday. But were back at it and this rain didnt slow progress today! Crossing fingers that we'll get it together by next friday. Here is a tease to part of new setup.
