Halloween Horror Nights is a special ticketed event at Universal Orlando, Hollywood & Singapore. In Orlando, it usually runs on select nights from mid-August through early November. The park closes early to day guests and the event begins at 6:30 pm and ends at 2 am.

The event features 10 haunted houses, 5 scare zones and 1 show as well as special spooky treats and drinks related to the themes of the houses. Costumes are not allowed but many people theme their outfits and hairstyles to the event. The event in Orlando is VERY popular with both tourists and locals and can get super crowded with lines for the houses sometimes at 1-2 hours and more.

Last year we purchased Express passes for the event allowing us to skip the lines and we only waited about 10-15 minutes per house. This year we decided to try an RIP tour - which is the Halloween version of a VIP tour. We had an awesome tour guide that took us straight to the front of the line at each house and we also had reserved seating for the show.

This was an amazing event and I HIGHLY recommend the RIP tour!

Loew’s Sapphire Falls resort ~ Universal Orlando

This resort is in the Signature category and does not include Universal Express. The lobby and grounds are stunningly beautiful and lush. We really enjoyed the pool and the convenient water taxi transportation to the parks was a plus - especially after a long night at Halloween Horror Nights. Our standard two queen room was comfortable and had a great view of the pool. There is a grab and go-type food mart that also offers some made-to-order food as well as a tavern with small plates and a beautiful sit-down restaurant.

Pro travel tip💡

If you fly budget airlines (like me!) Allegiant, Spirit, Frontier, etc….they charge extra fees to book online or over the phone. They don’t charge these fees when you buy in person. So if you live near an airport, head on over to the counter next time you need tickets. For me - flying round trip from Knoxville to Sanford - this saved $44 per person!💰
