Our Story
In 2005, the LeMasurier family felt the downtown area in Knoxville, Tennessee was missing something special. After spending years on the water celebrating occasions both large and small, they realized a modern dining yacht was the solution. The LeMasuriers researched and planned, dreamed and worked. Months later, they found a partner in SkipperLiner Industries, and the Volunteer Princess โ named after Knoxvilleโs very own University of Tennessee Volunteers โ was born.
Once construction concluded, the Volunteer Princess set its course for Knoxville, Tennessee. The yacht burned 3,000 gallons of fuel, traveled 1,400 miles over 14 days, and sailed through the Mississippi, Ohio, and Tennessee Rivers. On May 1, 2006, the LeMasuriersโ idea of providing a luxury yacht to East Tennessee came to fruition as the Volunteer Princess reached her new destination at Volunteer Landing Marina. More than a decade later, Volunteer Princess Cruises has become a prime Knoxville destination for natives and visitors alike.
