Two bikes rented already at the Moto Adventure Rally ! The 2018 BMW 1200GS to a gentleman whose bike broke before the rally even got moving, so now he can still ride the event with his friends, and the 2023 BMW F850GS for a rider who rode his sportbike out but doesn't have an ADV bike to experience the offroad! We are the backup bike solution at the Moto ADV Rally and will keep you rolling!

I "relaxed" after two days of San Diego ADV tours by fighting for my life in the sand in 95 degree weather 😀🥵🥵 I'm glad it will cool down right in time for the Moto Adventure Rally next week though, as I don't believe there is a pool and poolside bar there like there is at the Glamis North Hot Springs Resort and Palm Springs RV Park. Desert weather will be perfect in just a few days!! Happy desert season!!!🏜️🎅

Moto Adventure Rally coming up in about two weeks here at Stagecoach Trails RV Park and Resort , my favorite ADV motorcycle event in the San Diego area! Great trails and roads in the desert 🏜️ and mountains 🏔️ highlighted on a map for you to have a blast riding with your buddies! I'll have BMW GS's for rent, and there will be demo rides of other makes/models from dealers and gear and tires available! On-site registration is allowed, but you can get $25 off with my discount code registering online too!

Thoughts from a painful merge: anybody else ever find yourself riding in another state, and upon encountering traffic, you naturally tap the brake and angle yourself into the gap between cars to start lane splitting on instinct, forgetting it's not allowed? Then the car drivers around you get mad at you for "just a little scooch"? Just me? I need to teach Churro to ride in a backpack so I can lanesplit the 163 and 8 when picking her up from doggy daycare in the afternoons...

Breaks are important. Brakes are also important. I am big on stopping to enjoy the scenery, walk around a park or historical site, or eat at a mom and pop restaurant in a small town that I didn't pick because of Yelp, but because I was riding through with no cell service and it was there... frequently, my break is for pie 🥧 in Julian on local rides. Breaks let me experience the area more thoroughly and be fueled up for long adventure days 🍹

I was stoked to meet riding a 1300GS at a gas station on Highway 36 in the middle of nowhere! 🐶🏍️ I hope someday Churro can ride a motorcycle with me, but somehow I doubt she would remain still enough at the moment since she likes to run around like a crack weasel 🤔🤔

Rode the 1200GS through Lake Isabella and along the Kern River on my way to the Range of Light ride. So much great twisty pavement and dispersed camping out there! I’ll definitely be back on a smaller vehicle (my KTM 350 EXC-F) or a much larger one (my 4runner) to explore some of the trails!

✅ Outback Motortek upper and lower crash bars!! The final piece to protect my new 2023 850GS offroad! 💪 I also put together a locking adapter to run my new Garmin Zumo XT2 GPS on any OEM BMW NAV mount!! Now I can Bluetooth any route I create to my Zumo XT2 and use that on any of my big bikes. The Garmin Tread app for the XT2 is much more useful than the Drive app was for my original XT- Tread shows popular motorcycle routes and campsites, which is really handy for trip planning. Lacking the data cable, I had to program routes in my older BMW NAV V GPS turn by turn typing on the actual device. 😑

Did some pre- running in the Alabama Hills. I’ll be riding down 395 south after the Range of Light Ride in a few weeks, and don’t want to encounter a surprise deep sand trap, alone, on a fully loaded BMW 1200GS, in 105F degree heat. 🥵

Awesome day of mountain riding up in Big Bear with friends- rode Clark’s Grade, Skyline, and the Santa Ana River Valley! There was hero dirt and mud puddles in places from a big thunderstorm the previous afternoon. The thunder and rain made my meteorologist heart happy ⛈️⛈️

Excited about the Black Dog Cycle Works Ultimate Skidplate for the 850GS! I’m excited that it covers the headers in front, which looked really exposed. I got my workout benching it while trying to align the bolts! 🏋️‍♀️ I’m sure it will be every bit as solid as the skidplate and cylinder bash guards on my 1250GS Rallye, which have held up through some drops💪

New boot goofin’ in my Todd 🐧 socks, which were once the only socks I remembered to bring on an adventure bike trip to Utah. That time, I packed two bikes (not very successfully), riding gear, camping gear, tools… but somehow barely any socks.

Experimenting with different ways to share our tours with past and future guests. This ride was in Utah last year and hit some dirt going between and . Utah is an amazing place to ride because you can base in one area and hit multiple stunning National parks/public lands, and you can go up or down in elevation depending on the season for a comfortable ride.
