A very well traveled guest, with over 50 reviews, who has visited Airbnbs world wide, just called our Cabin the best Airbnb ever. *ok, I’m bragging.
Summer is in full swing! Sprinklers are going, umbrellas are set up at the swimming hole, the night sky is bright with a full moon, and a zillion stars, birds nests are filled with eggs ready to hatch and we are counting our blessings every day.
We wake to the songs of birds (Grandma North called this “morning prayers”), and we go to sleep feeling “good tired” after a hard days work in the yard and maybe an afternoon nap on the screen porch.
Life here, along The Little River, is like a dream come true.
Our quality Airbnb/vacation cabin are welcoming guests this Spring and throughout the year.
Come visit and take a step back into simpler times.
Enjoy expansive views of open sky and meadow lands, and the calming effect a beautiful river can have on body and soul.

UPDATE: the road to Rim Villiage is once again CLOSED (3.10.2024)
3.9.2024 at 4pm PST
After over a week long closure and an accumulation of nearly 6.5 ft (77.9 inches- to be precise) of snow during that time, the road from Steel Visitors Center up to Rim Village is officially OPEN!
Make sure to stay updated on if the road will remain open by checking our website for current conditions of road closures. We expect closures in the near future, potentially as soon as tomorrow morning, as the park continues to endure the spectacular snowy environment that it is known for.

Late February in Central Oregon signals the return of the Red Wing Black Bird and the Canada Geese.
A mixture of snow and sunshine will soon awaken even the earthworm, so we are expecting the American Robin any day now.
Early Spring is often punctuated with snow storms. Hold onto your warm mittens!
Imagine waking up to sunrises like this everyday.
We have availability in both cabins for Christmas and for New Years!
“The annular eclipse only lasts about four minutes (depending on your precise location under the Moon’s shadow) but the partial eclipse, which will be visible over a much wider geographic area, lasts about an hour and 15 minutes before and afterward. During this phase, shadows cast by objects on Earth will change in unusual ways. One lovely place to be during a partial solar eclipse is underneath a tree, if you can find an evergreen or a deciduous tree that has not dropped its leaves yet. Look at the ground. In the dappled light, you will see crescents everywhere: the crescent Sun.
Sunlight is the heavens reaching down to touch us right where we stand; I think about this when I step into the light. But crescent sunlight is the Moon joining this experience. Its darkness, rather than its light, reaches out to touch us, too.
You are connected to both the Moon and the Sun, just as you are connected to both the light and the dark, and a solar eclipse is physical evidence. You might even find yourself compelled to shout out, or to beat a drum.”
This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.

I never get tired of this view.
You know that feeling when you were a kid……sleeping outside in a cozy sleeping bag, and how refreshing the air was on your face! Waking up to chilly cheeks and a warm toes.
Fall is definitely our favorite time of year. Clear water, crisp evenings (perfect for time by the fire ring), visiting Elk and Deer families. Birds galore. And perfect temps during the day. Stay tuned for more amazing photos.

Once upon a time we got a 1 STAR review. Our guest was disappointed that the Sun rose in the East. Unable to contact the Sun for comment, we were forced to ignore the review. And every morning said Sun keeps showing up. If an Eastern view of a sunrise thrills you, you can trust in the 306 other reviews we have. Rest assured.
