11 Days in Egypt with a Private Egyptologist ... an incredible journey. We started the trip with a visit to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, including the Royal Mummies, that was a great introduction to Egypt. The Hanging Church is the most famous Coptic Christian church in Cairo and not to be missed. After a short flight to Luxor we traveled the same day to Dendara and Abydos - considered two of the best preserved Temple Complexes in Egypt. During the 4-night cruise on the Nile we visited Luxor, Karnak, Valley of the Kings including several tombs, Edfu and many more along the way, with a relaxing Felluca ride. Stopped at Abu Simbel on our way back to Cairo and highly recommended. Explored the largest museum in the world, the Grand Egyptian Museum, ride a camel next to the Great Pyramids and visited the Saqqara Step Pyramid - the First Pyramid in Egypt built 4700 years ago. Egypt has much to offer and definitely a repeat destination. Travel in luxury.

Elephants eat grasses, leaves, shrubs, fruits and roots depending on the season and their habitat. When it’s particularly dry, elephants will eat more woody parts of trees and shrubs like twigs, branches and barks. They need to eat up to 150kg of food per day – that's around 375 tins of baked beans – although half of this may leave the body undigested. Elephants eat so much that they can spend up to three-quarters of their day just eating.

**Enjoy our #virtualsafaris while dreaming of and planning your next safari destination. ** The Kruger Park area, consists of not only the public nature reserve, but a number of private reserves that are directly connected to the Kruger itself. The combination of these public and private reserves together are referred to as the Greater Kruger National Park. It basically means that the animals can roam freely between Kruger and the private reserves. One of the advantages of staying in a private game lodge though, is that you will be assigned a guide who will take you on morning and evening game drives with a tracker who is experienced in spotting those animals in the bushveld that we might not easily find with untrained eyes. The guides in the Greater Kruger have radios and they share animal sightings with each other. Another awesome thing about being on safari, is that from the minute you arrive everything is taken care of for you which includes lots of pampering! You will receive a daily schedule informing you of what time meals are served and when game drives and hikes will take place, as well as any other activities you might want to participate in. Today we are virtually traveling to the famous Sabi Sands private game reserve, adjacent to South Africa's flagship Kruger National Park.
