Often over looked. Powell Point is a prominent overlook located on the Aquarius Plateau in southern Utah, within the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. Rising to an elevation of over 10,000 feet, it offers sweeping panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, including the colorful layers of the Grand Staircase, Bryce Canyon, and parts of the Escalante Canyons. The point is named after John Wesley Powell, the renowned explorer and geologist who surveyed much of the American Southwest in the late 19th century. Accessible via a scenic but rugged road, Powell Point is a fantastic destination for hikers, nature enthusiasts, and those seeking solitude in a high-desert wilderness. Its remote location and dramatic vistas make it a must-see for anyone exploring the region.
