Welcome to “Da Beach Cabin”, a true four-season adventure rental cabin on Lac La Belle, Michigan. The Keweenaw Peninsula just might be one of Michigan’s most scenic, secluded and until now, secret recreational gems. We are located approximately 40 miles north of Houghton, or just 25 miles from the Houghton county airport. When you stay at Da Beach Cabin you will enjoy a private acre of land with y

our own 100 feet of red sand beach. The shallow waters of Lac La Belle from our beach provide a perfect launch pad for all non-motorized watersports. Want to try your hand at kayaking, canoeing or stand up paddleboarding? We provide full use of high quality kayaks, canoes, stand up paddleboards and required safety gear. If mountain biking is your sport, Copper Harbor’s world famous IMBA trails are only 15 miles away. The long summer days give you plenty of time to play all day and then relax in the evening with a lakefront fire. In the fall, the hiking trails and scenic roads explode in color. Photographers and nature lovers alike gather to the Keweenaw to take part in this yearly phenomenon. Days may become cooler, but the summer lights fade; leading to autumn skies. Lac La Belle is protected from most light pollution enhancing stargazing. If requested, we will gladly provide you with your own telescope to view this celestial treat from the beach. When the trails turn white and quiet with the winter chill, you will appreciate being only ¼ mile from the base of Mount Bohemia, the Midwest’s most extreme downhill ski mountain. Take part in the steepest and the deepest un-groomed snow in the area, or just enjoy the fun and libations at the North Pole Bar. From our cabin you can cross-country ski on the lake or in the woods, or take tracks to the groomed Nordic trails at Bohemia. And don’t worry, we will pamper you by providing snow blowing, plowing and shoveling. As the snow and ice melt in the spring, the wild flowers bloom along the muddy trails. Wildlife and migratory birds return. A short drive to Brockway Mountain, or the “hawk highway” provides a viewing platform for the spectacular spring raptor migration. Spring is also a perfect time to visit the Keweenaw National Park’s numerous historical sites. Old mining towns, lighthouses and museums are scattered throughout the peninsula. We want your stay to be as remarkable and memorable as possible. Please let us know if you desire any special requirements. We had a nice break in the clouds for about 4 hours last night. I wonderd down to the beach and was treated to a starry night and moonrise over Lac La Belle. Then the clouds came back.
