✈️ Travel Tip of the Day: Should I Take Cash? 💵
When traveling abroad, the age-old question of "how much cash should I take?" often comes up. It's a great question, and here's what we tell our clients:
1️⃣ Carry a Small Amount of Local Currency: It’s always smart to have some cash on hand for small expenses, like tipping, street food, or taxis that may not accept cards.
2️⃣ Use Credit Cards for Larger Expenses: Opt for a credit card with no foreign transaction fees for meals, shopping, and hotels. This keeps your cash reserves intact and often provides better exchange rates.
3️⃣ Don’t Overload on Cash: Carrying too much cash can be risky. Instead, use ATMs at your destination to withdraw local currency as needed.
4️⃣ Inform Your Bank: If you plan to use your card while abroad, check if your bank requires a travel alert on your account. This helps avoid declined transactions.
5️⃣ Backup Plan: Consider carrying a second card or small USD/EUR reserves in case of emergencies.
