Due to the potential for rain on Friday evening, the Town of Wolfeboro has cancelled the Lake Winnipesaukee Day festivities. Although the organizers have rescheduled the event, the new date does not make it possible for the Mount to participate. We are very disappointed that we aren’t able to support an event that we helped to originate, but we respect their decision. It hardly seems possible, but the summer is more than halfway over! Sales are picking up for our Labor Day Lobster Bake, our traditional send off for our summer season. Hosted on the Sunday of Labor Day Weekend, passengers enjoy a 2.5 hour cruise, live entertainment, and a buffet dinner including chicken, steamers, potatoes, salads, and a whole lobster for each guest. The Mount is now for sale! Purchase this 11 inch replica of the Winnipesaukee Flagship from one of our gift shops. Our ship gift shop is open during all public cruises, and our gift shop at our Weirs Beach office will be open from 9 AM to 4 PM in the month of August.

Yesterday was Skit Day on Birch Island, and passengers on the U.S. Mailboat Sophie C. were treated to an Olympic-size celebration complete with togas and a torch bearer.

During this year's Christmas in July cruise, the M/S Mount Washington donated one day cruise ticket for every ticket sold to the Greater Lakes Region Children's Auction. Yesterday was a very special day, when we hosted all of the beneficiary organizations and families on our 10:00 AM cruise. Special thanks to all of the volunteers, organizers, and crew who made this cruise so amazing, and to the sponsors who provided free soft drinks and ice cream to all of the kids!

A big thanks to the M/S Mount Washington for your generous donation of over 270 tickets for this amazing scenic day time cruise today given to our funded nonprofit children - many of whom have never been on the Lake. The Olympics begin today, and we're excited to cheer for Team USA! During the Olympic Games, the crew uniform has been modified to permit pins supporting olympic teams, and Team USA pins have been provided to any crew who would like to wear one.

A few weeks ago, the M/S Mount Washington upgraded its internet hardware to Starlink, which provides broadband internet access by satellite. After a few weeks of testing, the result has been a much more stable connection and faster transaction times for all of our customers.

MUSIC MONDAY: Freddie Catalfo is an accomplished singer-songwriter, guitarist and actor. He began playing guitar at age 13, and was the lead singer and guitarist of the award-winning band Rose Cold Reaction.
