Preston’s of the North has been a staple in downtown Lafayette. Located in the historic John Purdue Building along the Wabash River, the corner of South Street and 2nd continues to provide a relaxing environment for great food, drinks and entertainment. Enjoy our indoor seating, or experience a beautiful sunset on Indiana’s largest patio. Preston of the North was the outgoing brother of the famous
Sgt. Preston of the Yukon. Our indoor seating area re-creates the Canadian atmosphere that Sgt. Preston and his faithful sled dog, Yukon King, endured during the turn-of-the-century throughout his run in radio and television. The Sarge’s Royal Canadian Mountie lifestyle emanates through the restaurant; from our stained glass mountain scenes to our very own moose head, and helps bring the authentic feel of the Canadian North to all those who enter. In late 1980, the Sarge made his way down the Wabash and turned his love of fun into more than just a hobby! Need an event catered? Come check out our Purdue Room! This spacious room offers the homey feel of Sgt. Preston’s with an extra touch of class. Great for small private events or large parties – we offer food options from both Sgt. Preston’s restaurant menu and The Outpost Catering Hall. Preston’s is happy to offer reservations of any size! We ask that all party members be 21 years of age or older (18 with an ID and parent present.) Ask us about Sgt. Preston’s merchandise – from T-shirts to winter pullovers, we’ve got you covered!
