We are delighted to share the exciting news that, after almost five months, we are preparing for the reopening of Māla Ocean Tavern. The tremendous support from our community, ohanas, extended families, and guests has been truly heartwarming, and we look forward to reopening with aloha to continue serving our wonderful and strong community. Aloha and Happy New Year!! We have finalization of operation plans for 2024. We are moving forward as a complex to rejuvenate the entirety of the Mahina Surf grounds now pushed to begin June 2024. Maui Is Open. West Maui will be opening to visitors on October 8th.

Please be kind, the islands are absolutely still mourning for Lahaina and there is a lot of rightful grief and anger in the community, as well as in supporters of Maui elsewhere.

Napili Bay, taken yesterday, it was an incredibly clear day. A lot going on in this panorama, see if you can spot the other islands.

Napili Bay, located on the northwest coast of Maui, is a picturesque crescent-shaped beach known for its golden sands, crystal-clear waters, and excellent snorkeling opportunities. Surrounded by lush greenery, it offers a serene escape with gentle waves and stunning sunsets, making it a popular spot for relaxation and water sports on the island.

We’re so happy to announce our reopening this weekend.

Our restaurant is reopening in phases, so please join us for fabulous food and gorgeous ocean views beginning on these dates:

» Friday, Sept. 8: Open for breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily

» Friday, Sept. 15: Open regular hours, with happy hour from 2 to 4:45 p.m. and dinner from 5:30 to 9 p.m. daily

To show our appreciation for our Maui community, we’ll be offering a 15% kama’aina discount — just show your server your Hawaii driver’s license.

All profits during our first two weeks will be donated to Maui Humane Society, in support of the team that’s been working so hard since the fire to reunite Lahaina residents with their beloved pets.

Aloha friends & family! As Lahaina & West Maui move forward in the coming months the news & nation will forget their continued need. Mahina Surf 215 will be looking for good people willing to donate their time and/ or 💲money to the local rebuilding efforts. Thoughts now are free nights stays for days of volunteer work, with monetary contributions, or both. (see comments for more details)
